I'm glad to see BVB out of the relegation zone. They have a special gift. It amazes me just how easily they concede stupid goals... and how fast. I think they are trying to beat some record, most goals received in the first minute.
On the other hand it is nice to see Bayern playing by themselves. You see a team like Hamburg going against them... they're not even trying

Barca had a golden chance to end this in 45 mins...if not at the end with the penalty..still a good game and only bad defending came when Aguero scored. I did get pissed off by Busquets insisting to twist & turn near the box and not pass quickly when defending near his D (He isn't Xavi to pull that off and not lose the ball!)

I'm not very confident about Man Utd getting a top 4 finish. They still have to play Chelsea, City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham, all who are in better form. Hopefully Carrick coming back from injury will be a boost, but they are just not scoring enough goals. Falcao = poor, Van Persie = lost interest, Di Maria = home sick. Rooney and James Wilson look like our two best strikers at the moment. Why did we sell Welbeck?

Great result for the boys, Getting knocked out of Europa seems to have woken them up. If Chelsea win their game in hand, we are closer to 2nd than 2nd is to the top of the table, didn't think I'd be saying that at Christmas.

Plus my 'other' team (Wellington Phoenix) went to Melbourne and beat Victory for the first time in Melbourne, they are now sharing second in the A League, and only 2 points off top spot. (and we beat the Aussies at the cricket World Cup) ahhh life is good.

Your answer is in your own post :p:

Barcelona had a good game v Granada after that loss last week. Suarez keeps on scoring but Neymar's dip in form is a bit worrying. What was best was that Madrid drew vs Villarreal to make it a 2 pt gap again :D
Penaldo again. 9th this season. Still some people seem to value his goal scoring more than Messi's

They don't really seem to have the energy to finish top 4. The way they play, to me it's a miracle they are up there right now. They're dull and predictable. I don't know what their plans are but right now Falcao doesn't seem to be worth that kind of money. Of course, they might not buy him in the end and then he goes on and play super well somewhere else.

I don't think Welbeck would have been much help. He's rather mediocre.

Spain's state television network TVE has sacked its sports chief after the channel censored boos and hissing that greeted the national anthem at the country's football cup final.
Fans from the Catalan team Barcelona and the Basque team Athletic de Bilbao greeted the Royal March with cat-whistles and the stamping of feet when it was played before Spain's King Juan Carlos and 55,000 spectators who gathered for the final of the Copa del Rey on Wednesday night.

The chair throwing response from WBA muppets was worse though.

Mou :D Funny when you try not to score at home with an away goal and then try to defend the lucky goal you scored.
against 10 people too!

RealM could have gone out only if they had scored 1 goal less!

I remember when Chelsea and Madrid looked unstoppable early in the seasons, that they were bound to come down...just see how they crashed down.

Luiz and Silva, can't defend but can definitely score goals...

The red card was deserved, still I hope PSG will qualify for next round !

I dislike Ibra a lot, but that was not a red card. If red, then Oscar should have gotten a yellow for his lunge as well !!
Ref was stupid anyways turning his back on Costa pushing people and even the yellow he got on his tackle looked more dangerous than the Ibra/Oscar one.

So happy to see Mou out. And that Costa's a major douche. I'll gladly hate any team he's part of.

They should change the rules a little. Players should be booked even for talking to a referee. I'm tired of seeing players putting pressure on referees for cards or God knows what. I don't know why they tolerate this. I'm sure part of the reason for Ibrahimivich's red card is the way the Chelski players swarmed over him.

Fair play to Joe Hart he was brilliant.

Tevez goal fantastic again. I hope we see a strong Juve in QF too (especially if they come up against Madrid ;) )

Well Man City were just steam rolled (without the score reflecting it, like steve said could easily have been 5 or 6)
Hart was excellent but Neymar's finishing and some of his choices in the box were poor. Suarez wasn't very sharp either.
Messi was brilliant. Can't wait for the clasico :)

PSG v Barca again, I had hoped to see Barca kick some Munich ass this time :)

Big Ben

Gerrard. Don't know why. I missed the first half.

that's the interesting part of it. Gerrard didn't even play the first half. He was subbed in at half time and somehow he managed to lose his mind in just 40 seconds. I'm sure some players didn't even start running yet

and after that Rodgers thought he should try and break some record and send someone else in for another instant red

Man Utd 5 points clear of Liverpool now.

Chelsea should have the title secured, but City, Arsenal, United are only separated by 2 points. Man U still have to play all 3 so 2nd place is possible.

Big Ben
22nd March 2015, 17:44
Anyways, United should have hammered Liverpool today really hard, yet, once again they managed to make things interesting to the very end.

On the other hand I've read plenty of articles lately quoting Liverpool players saying things like 'we're coming for you' and all sort of these cocky stuff. Don't they look like fools now? They didn't just lose, they played pretty bad.
