Barcelona worry me.

I think they are truly stuck between ideas. They pass and pass, but without the 2009-2012 players in form, they create nothing much.

Messi has played better in some games, but still looks a bit static. Last night it was Messi v PSG at times, but they didn't give him the ball enough.

A couple of years ago, there were calls of needing to stop depending on Messi, now it appears they are trying not to, but are quite toothless at times. Now they need to use him more.

Anyway Leo is still great at times and the brief glimse of football for his goal, between him & Iniesta was brilliant.

steve, I know what you are saying but they are playing some good stuff this season., Also the pressing games seems to have come back with Enrique. Suarez will add bite to the front line too.

Rakitic has been class though.

Crappy game, Atletico-Juve. We had 60% ball possession, but never had a realistic chance to score. As for Atletico, well they scored, and that's what counts, but I was not impressed. 4 Team with equal points, will make this Group, very exciting. Now my mind is on Sundays big match in Turin : Juve vs Roma, and I will be there !!! :D

1) Mascherano in defence. The guy was awesome in WC as a DM. He's not a defender.

I think Man Utd are improving under Van Gaal. The 4-3-3 formation he has played in the last few games has looked good. With the defenders we have United are always going to vulnerable to concede goals, but playing a consistent back 4 would definitely improve the organisation.

I might be totally wrong but I think most City players have not won CL or been at clubs which were regularly in the last 4 of the competition (before joining City? Yaya Toure is a huge exception).

Why I hate Jose Mourinho - Reason 845

So the mental one is whinging about his opponents time wasting and costing his team of over-paid prima-donna's a win.

Erm Jose mate it seems like only weeks ago that you had your team waste time at every opportunity against Liverpool, and you saw it as a legit tactic to prevent your opposition from playing. Things like having your goal keeper take more than 3 minutes to get the ball back into play for goal kicks, and have your players change the throw the 3 or four times at every throw in, not to mention all of the pathetic rolling around on the ground every time they lost a tackle.

Well done the Toon Army!!

How ironic that the boot is now on the other foot. Hopefully other teams take Newcastle's lead and have you whinging and whining like a badly behaved 7 year old at the fairground.

I agree Storm.

Great to see Chelsea finally beaten. It might open up the season here now.

As for Barca, so much better after half time. Don't know what happened to their play in the first half.

Messi scoring his third hattrick in four games... and not a hattrick of tap ins. His 3rd that was close in still came after his brilliant run and 1-2 with Pedro.

The difference was that Man Utd have one of the top 3 GKs in the world with de Gea, a finisher as good as Falcao on the bench and Liverpool didn't even start with a striker.

We need to give David de Gea a new contract. Give him whatever he deserves. If Rooney is on £300k p/w give de Gea £500k p/w!

too true Liverpool just aren't doing it at present. It is more than just selling Suarez, as good as he is, he is only one player, and the real problems seem to stem from the back of the pitch. Liverpool teams - even poor ones have always had fight and desire, this IS missing with this bunch, and if Rogers can't rediscover this he will not be Liverpools manager next season.

de Gea was good at Atletico too - only thing was suspect at crosses but he has always been a great shot-stopper - come to think of it, almost any Spanish or La Liga keeper is a fantastic reaction save type keeper.
DdG probably lost his confidence early on in England with the media on his back and you know who as coach...Now he has come to terms with the league, style and is confident too.

Better watch out as when Casillas goes, de Gea might end up there or at Barca if Ter Stegen is not the real deal ;)

Fergie managed de Gea well. When the media was on his back calling for his head, Fergie stood by him and kept his faith.

I currently think he's better than Van der Sar but still has to dominate his defence more to get to Schmeichel's level.
