Wim_Impreza: Zedník developed the car for more than 2 years. After all the strugglings he deserves that. He had no retirement in whole season! :)

Urabus: I don't want to count it but probably Kresta as he won Valašská and Krumlov by big margin.

Victory for Felice Re at the Fabaria Rally today(his main contender for the title Marco Silva fails to win for 6.6s)...with only one event left of the TRA(italian tarmac rallies championship) I think Felice Re is champion, no ???

Wow, Zednik must be the last Mohican who still drives Fiesta S1600!
Congratulations to him for his hard work and perseverance!

So Van Eldik had another crash while he was leading the rally. Seems like his new Imprza WRC (only second event he was using it) was destroyed and both driver and codriver have injuries, the codriver has a broken shoulder(bone) and Van Eldik seems to have a broken hand. So i guess we won't see him anymore in action this year.
Wevers won easily with son and father Kuipers second and third what makes it a Focus 1,2,3. Snijers did a great job in his Porsche once again and finished in fifth overall. ;)

To be more specific: the codriver had a broken collarbone (the right word in English ;) ).

Again a win for Wevers, for the Dutch title it is between him and Jasper van den Heuvel (Lancer Evo 9).

In order to prepare the Tour de Corse WRC, Sébastien Ogier(C2 S1600)and Conrad Rautenbach(C4 wrc)are running this week-end the Rallye national de Corté in Corsica ;)

After SS1 Rautenbach is second behind local driver Pascal Trojani(BSA whale) :)
Ogier is 30th, far behind the S1600 local driver Jean-Toussaint Albertini...maybe a problem or puncture or off ??? :(

Victory for Pascal Trojani in front of Conrad Rautenbach and Jean-Toussaint Albertini...

Fantastic pace by Sébastien Ogier after a double-puncture on SS2(he was 63rd and last of the participants)who finished...9th overall !!!!!

Answer for Tom206WRC-indeed Felice Re is an Italian Tarmac Champion(TRA) !!!
He was already a champ in 2006, last year it was a desaster with Fabia WRC, but this year he was unstapable....I'm very hapy for him, his co-driver and wife Mara and of course for a winning team Vieffecorse, who was responsible for Xsara WRC.
I hope he will selebrate his titel in Monza Rally show in mid-November, with a lot of smoke under the tyres...

i heard this sad news already in zlin....very sad indeed and not really understandable for me, cause i had the feeling that the czech drivers/codrivers, media people and spectators liked the jänner rallye....

i hope a lot of czech drivers come to freistadt even without championship status!! vlada would be great!! he still has a mission to fullfill with this rallye, he was the fastest guy in the last 2 years and has not won it yet..

WRC1: There are several problems in our champ. Too many rallys at first. They need to have 6-7 rallys next year. It is logical they don't want foreign rally in this case. It seems Třebíč may be gone as well. Second one is that Jänner is too early in the season. In fact when Jänner starts we rarely have even a season calendar! Since last year first national rally take place in March, 2 months later. And third one is that snow rally is too expensive for many crews, especialy after changing date of Rally Sumava to spring time.

But generaly it changes nothing on the fact the rally itself is beautiful!

very logic and reasonable points...

we have a big summerbreak from june to september in our championship, so it is no problem to have almost no winter break, but you have bohemia and barum in the summer so i can understand the decision

but neverthelss i hope that a lot of your drivers and fans come to freistadt!

there are rumors that fabia s2000 may run first time under competition at jänner rallye 80)

Can you please tell me how many laps does the Rundkurs Treglwang stage have?I was at the Hall stage last year and I think it had 3 laps.
What do you reccomend between Rundkurs Treglwang and Rundkurs Hall?

Anyone?

sorry, i was out at the prolog stage and made recce for tomorrow...

so treglwang has 2 laps and hall 3 laps, like last year!

about treglwang, is very difficult to describe, the easiest acces is when you go to the point where the cars cross the main road, it is short after the start and they go beneth the mainroad, it is a very tight and slippery corner....

in hall you go always straigt along the main road, at the big parking place you must walk on the stage (in driving direction!!) for about 1 km, you will reach an open field with many spectators, there you can watch the cars arriving on a small gravel road with many bumps and maybe jumps....

hope it is not too late and i could help you a bit!

I was on Saturday in Bassano del Grapa to see their rally-entrylist was fantastic and also the race was very nice. I must admit-drivers in WRC are not a regular drivers (they rent yust for one or two local races), so they are not so spectacular as top-drivers in TRA (Re, Silva, Musti, Botta, Porro...), but newerless, I rather see one WRC car as ten N4 cars...
One interesting thing: in team GMA, which owns Xsara WRC, was a technichal adviser Mr.Phillipe Bugalski !! Nice to see him in one local race in Italy...Piccolotto, who rented Xsara, defenitly recived some usefull informations regarding how to drive this rocket....

Last weekend I was at amateur rally near my home. It was a part of very popular amateur Rally Cup. To ilustrate how popular it is - 286 various crews competed in first three events! As it is very cheap to enter this series, many Polish crews are among them (one of them rolled just infront of me on saturday :) ). Maybe someone here is interested in it :)

Thanks to all.... Last year was the 1st year of the development for the Asphalt version of the Polo S2000 so many things changed and we have learned a lot... and now we see the results of that like in Austria where the 2 Polo's run as a clock, and also in San Remo was Casier on his way to a strong performance until he discovered that a mountain is quite solid and does not moove away...

Mirek, could say something more about that championship, what are the regulations,is it attractive?
I am asking all these questions because here in Croatia we are trying to make a championship just like that.
The first season already finished and it is called ORC (Open Rally Challenge).
ORC rally are attractive and perfectly organized with lots of people but there are very small entries (usually 20-30 cars).

urabus-denoS2000: I don't know much but as far as I know there are categories A1-A4 according to engine volume and H1-H4 for historical cars (1986 and older) + race of regularity (I don't know how is it in English). There are 6 events of Rally Cup (there is also another series called Volný pohár = Free cup). For example last rally had 2 stages both about 10 km gone twice in both directions, that is around 80 km. Only five best results are counted. Crew members must be 18 years old, drivers must have driving licence. Cars must have some safety equipment like rollcage (except regularity class), fire extinguisher, at least 4-points seat belts etc. Entry fee is usualy maximum 200 Euro and less for smaller cars.

It is more or less the same here.
We have classes Sprint (1400-1600),Supersport(1600-2000) and Prosport (+2000).
Basic safety equipment is required and around 80-90 km of special stages.
The only problem is that there are no "ORC cars" (cars specifically built for ORC),all of the cars are FIA homologated. But guys are starting to built ORC cars in their garages and things should be better in the not so distant future

Ja is very young tallented Czech driver (in June he was 18). This year he was competing with old Peugeot 206 RC in A7, you can look at result of Rally Prachatice, which was on water (http://mmcr.vysledky-rally.cz/rallysport/2008/mcr/prachatice/9abs.php). But he has never starts abroad. But in future he can be very, very good ;)

Thanks for the list. After having look at it, I'd bet my money on the old guys - Lietaer or Snijers. Good luck to both!

I think it will depend a lot on the weather, it has been raining quite a lot the past few days, so i think the stages will be rather slippery. That could be a disadvantage for Snijers and his Porsche. I guess we will see a battle with Debackere, Deferm, Lietaer and Snijers. Casier's VW Polo will not have enough topspeed on this rally to play a major role, we saw that allready last year with Loix in the Polo. ;)

They expect much rain for tomorrow, so I think Deferm, Debackere and Lietaer will be before Snijers at the end of the rally. Last year, the winner was Deferm before Debackere in the same cars as now. ;)

In Haspengouwrally in Belgium there is a lot of drama allready, Patrick Snijers retired in his Porsche at the start of second stage and Casier retired with broken engine on very first stage. Pitty for RGRS who worked like hell to get the car ready after Casier's off in San Remo. Deferm is leading the rally after two stages with 11 sec from Lietaer, both in Subaru WRC's, third is Melissa Debackere in her Corolla WRC but allready 28 sec behind. Fouth is Bob Colsoul in his Mitsu Evo9 Gr.A. ;)

At the end of first day in Haspengouwrally, after six stages the positions seem allready fixed, also because off the retirements of three principal contenders: Snijers, Casier and Lietaer. Lietaer had to stop because of a beginning fire in his Impreza WRC. So this is how it looks:

1. Deferm (Subaru Impreza WRC)
2. Debackere (Toyota Corolla WRC) at 1'09"7
3. Colsoul (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo8 Gr.A) at 1'30"4
4. Lefevere (BMW M3) at 1'47"1
5. Lhonnay (Misubishi Evo9 Gr.N) at 2'25"8
6. Smelcher (Porsche GT3) at 2'45"3

Victory in Haspengouwrally, the penultimate round of Belgian championship, was taken by Hubert Deferm in his Impreza WRC, in front of Bob Colsoul (Mitsu Evo8 Gr.A) and Melissa Debackere (Toyota Corolla WRC); This lady is taking the lead in the championship with a margin of 3 points to Deferm and 14 points to Snijers (retired with broken drive-shaft). All will be decided in the last rally, namely the Condrozrally, wich will take place on7,8 and 9 november.
Also in Gr.N championship there is nothing final, because Lhonnay (Mitsu Evo9) took victory in Haspengouw and takes the lead in championship with only one point in front off De Keyser (Subaru Impreza N12), who finished second Gr.N in Haspengouw.

Czech automobile federation prohibited all licensed drivers, co-drivers, timekeepers, result workers and all other licensed person from participating on amateur competitions. They also prohibited to lend timekeeping equipment even in situation when organizers are members of Autoclub of Czech Republic. They threaten by disciplinary comitee to all who trespass the prohibition. That is probably the end of 2008 season of very popular Rally Cup and Volný pohár - non-expensive competitions without useless bureacracy. That is realy shame...

In my opinion Humar is currently the best Slovenian driver and he would be able to show most at international scene, although that is hard to say because it ia a question if would be so fast with an N4 car as he is with the pocket-rocket C2 R2 Max (he never drove an N4 car).
His best result was finish as the second non-S1600 car in the 2WD category in the ADAC Rally Deutschland 2007, behind Yoann Bonato also with the C2 R2.It was his first rally outside Slovenia and Croatia.

Forgot to add that he is also a very spectacular driver

Interesting though, Thierry Beuron who discovered his 207 was fastest on every today six stages and his 3rd place was due to two mistakes he did yesterday(promising debut)...

There should be more WRC in Prague than last year. Trojan and Brynda confirmed in Octavias WRC. Trněný in Fabia. Pech, Triner, Peták will probably use WRC as well. Another possible ones are Drotár or Gergely Szabó...

2006 and 2007 years ago we had a standard of 15-10 N4 cars,now we have 7 cars!!!
The rally has no website it doesnt even have a logo!!!
I dont remember when a rally in Croatia had this small media attention!!!
Hope the new ORC championship works fine because the national championship is alomst dead!!!

Rallysprint Vsetín in finish:

1. Odložilík (207 S2000)
2. Gavlák (Evo 9) +11,6 (not counted to rallysprint Champ as he has Slovak licence)
3. Jelínek (Evo 9) +32,9
4. Semerád sr. (Evo 9) +1:05,4 (off on SS1)
5. Michalík - Enduro world champion (Evo 9) +1:14,4 (he was given very bad substitutional time after Pantálek crash)
6. Tlusťák (C2 S1600) +1:16,7
7. Ducháček (Evo 9) +1:19,7
8. Ševčík (Evo 8) +1:28,7 (after several years long pause, he was also given bad substitutional time on SS6)
9. Minařík (Fabia Kit Car) +1:24,9
10. Mikulaštík (N14) +1:31,6
11. Dohnal (Clio S1600) +1:34,3 (also given bad substitutional time on SS6)
12. Chvojka (Evo 9) +1:50,6
13. Sýkora (Evo 9) +2:11,9 (brake failure on SS5 where he lost over a minute)

So, finaly 3rd place in champ goes to Semerád. Unfortunately Sýkora lost chance by technical problem. Gr. A title goes to Minařík. Minařík and Dohnal had same points before Vsetín and it was dirrect fight between them. Shame on sporting committee for spoiling this fight by given much worse substantial time to Dohnal than Minařík did on SS6. It would be fight till the end...

I was there and it was very hard for the crews. Stages were partly damp, covered by dirt and leaves and often very narrow. There were two heavy crashes. Czech N3 champion Křížek totaly destroyed his Civic into a tree. Fortunately both were only shaken. Krotký crashed hard his C2R2 and has broken rib.

Two times European Rallycross champion Kotek was third in N3 class and 39th from 82 overal in his first ever rally. Offroad driver Pešl was third (42th overal) in N2 but only by 2 seconds from victory and won several stages in class.

A lot of onboards here: http://www.mediasport.cz/rally-cz/videa SS1 by Drotár is for people who understand Slovak only. They run very slowly because of power steering problem but these old guys are great fun to listen ;)

Not a good result for Mark Higgins but I was told the stages were too fast for S2000/S1600. Solid run for Czech colours, gentleman driver Tošovský was sixth and young Šlehofer in S1600 nineth despite technical problems.

Also on the next rally for the Croatian championship 9.Rally Poreč Slovenian Sašo Vusič will debut with an Peugeot 207 S2000.
He will rent the car from Claudio de Cecco (Friulmotor) to test the car and to compare it with a group N car.
He will probably use it in 2009 season

A bit mixed feelings with the preview calendar, because there is no snow rally and why is Rally Bohemia as the final event of the preview season calender? 7 rounds is really better than this year. Thanks for the link.

Jänner is there no more because it has bad date for Czech championship (3-4 months before next rally) and because many crews don't want to buy winter equipment just for one event. There is a rumour that Škoda wants Rally Bohemia in October...

There were often huge problems on Šumava when there was snow. They often restricted using tyres with spikes for some stages and rally became funny sliding in no speed. Moreover last two years there wasn't snow on the roads for most of the winter :(
