This is an example of the stages that was part of the Rally Ourense. Sergio and Diego Vallejo had a mistake in the first stage of the morning, so they decided to retire after a puncture (way too long until the Service Park).

The Rally Ourense has just ended. Monzon won, Fuster was second and Pons third.
The sad piece of news was that a car was completely burnt. The driver tried everything to save the car, but he couldn't. Fortunately, the crew is OK. After it, a stage was neutralised and another one was cancelled. It's said that the fire started in a brake disc:

After several rocades of Bulgarian Rally Calendar, the first round was finally ran this weekend - Hebros (also 2nd round of Balkan's Cup). Epic fight between Iliev & Donchev, finally won by Iliev by 3.8 seconds. Good driving by Kara, but no match for local crews with S2000. Tomorrow is first press conference of this year auto24 Rally Estonia where will be announced first big names. I can assure we have good news. This years auto24 Rally Estonia dates: 19-20 July and it is a round of Estonian, Latvian, Baltic and NEZ championship, also round of FIA Historic European Championship.

In historic rally, for example the last Rally Lana Storico, under the result - see w w w.cronometristi.net/public/risultati/Rally/NAZ/BIELLA%28BI%291606201301/index.html - the entry is classified into three types, RALLY STORICO, AUTO CLASSICHE and REGOLARITA' SPORT. What's the difference each other? anyone knows?

well, if you are looking for a good one make cup, go to France ! Peugeot Sport is organizing the 208 R2 Cup which is attracting international drivers (Abbring from Netherlands, Cherain from Belgium and Gago from Portugal). Another good point is that it's organized on both tarmac and gravel. In general the winner has an official drive for Peugeot if he is young. I think this championship is the best one make cup in Europe.

After, it depends on the experience of the driver ... in France you have too a junior championship organized with a Twingo R1. But I think you have to have a french license to be eligible. The winner has an official drive for Renault one year.
You have also various series, organized by Citroën (DS3 R3 and DS3 R1), Renault (Twingo R2) or Opel (Adam R2).

In Belgium the Junior championship is open to all, but if you want to win you have to run a R2. it's the same thing as Peugeot Cup in France, the level is high. But it's run only on tarmac.

In Italy there are some trophies too, but no really competitive. The junior championship has a good level, quite similar with Belgium (but I don't know if he is open to all).

you can find too various one make cups in Switzerland, Spain or United Kingdom, with quite decent level (Fiesta R2, Twingo R2, DS3 R3, ...).

In Belgium we have the Junior championship which is open to all R2 and R1 cars. The driver must be younger than 26 years. There is also the Ford Fiesta R2 trophy with a good level of drivers and there is the Citroën DS3 R3T trophy and the Peugeot 208 R2 trophy. In my opinion the Fiesta R2 trophy and the Junior championship in Belgium have a very high level, a good media coverage and the costs aren't so high as in the DS3 R3T trophy and the Peugeot 208 R2 trophy.

Germany has also good trophies, with the Opel Adam R2 Cup and the Citroën DS3 R1 cup. Switzerland has indeed the Fiesta R2 trophy.

There is some rallies, but only one has an important status : Lausitz (and only one cup, the Twingo). Other are small, and aren't involved in any one make cup, or even national championship.

In Belgium some rallies have 1-5 % gravel, not more. The only expection is the Sezoens Rally, my home rally, which has 25 % gravel on fast roads.

In Germany there are more rallies that have gravel, as example the Lausitz Rally which has 95 % gravel. That rally is not so far from Poland and has each year a lot of nationalities at the start.

No, its not an Ex-VW car. Its one of last years BRR cars. I think ist former KI-926 AW.

It was extremely lucky accident. I was around 300-400 meters from the accident scene and I was just measuring time difference between Kõrge and him (it was 0.2 seconds in Lukyanuk favour just before that stage).Then I heard really heavy bang and everything was quiet then. That was really scary. They were OK, only Arnautov´s hands were shaking even hours after the accident. I took a few pictures when the car was on its side (from the forest). It was narrow left corner just before the junction to the right (to the tarmac).

Also I heard from officials, that Arnautovs's seat was broken because of the impact. Also we asked Lukyanuk how he feels in the service park, after the rally and he said that everything hurts a bit. They where very lucky that they hit the first tree with rear end, but like bluuford described, it was a really big bang, we heard it about an kilometer away and then heard over security radio, that a big accident and that car is blocking the road, because it was a very narrow place, but when we arrived there, the car var turned on it's side and it seemed that, it didn't disturb next drivers.

As there is no report about the GTC Rally yet, I will try to give one :)
The rally was 2 days, friday they drove untill 1.30 pm. Swaanen (C4 WRC) went off in the dark and Van Loon (Focus WRC) had a puncture. So De Jongh (Lancer WRC) was leading and was doing a good job for the Dutch Championship.
But on saturday he didn't start because his father is in hospital. Schilt (Impreza S14 WRC) got the lead and won easily. Van Hoof (Evo 4) was very impressive and became 2nd, Van Loon returned to 3. Lot of belgian teams at the start, but most of them had to retire...

If you are talking about the situation from Açores, the rally uses some of the stages from Sata. Im not familiar aswell with the situation but from what I've heard it looks like quite a planned sabotage. The poles where inserted after the 0 cars and in the video they say it was removed after first two cars. It looks like whoever made this had it well planned and knew the sport so I guess it was not sabotage from the local citizens, perhaps some fans of Moura's opposition are bored from seeing him win everything?!

Only thing I know is what I read on MTV3 web site. Jari Ketomaa was leading the rally by 1 min & 28 s to Subaru driver Mark Higgins, when they run out of fuel about 15 m before the refilling point. The team’s mechanics was assisting pushing the car and the crew was disqualified.

No, unfortunately not. But I found out that we were close to the stages of Rallye de Faverges and incidently even drove 2 stages when we were heading to the Tour de France so at least it's something! Also I went parapenting - not a too bad alternative. :)

Rally Tvarditsa-Elena 2013 was won by Dimitar Iliev with Fabia S2000 and I must say it was well deserved win. Surprisingly his rival was not Donchev with Fiesta R5, but Surilov with Mitsu EVO 9 (Gr.N). He even won a stage (SS04 - Buynovtsi), but the car failed him on SS06 with broken driveshaft.
About Donchev - it was clear he needs more time with the car, it was very nervous on the corners. His times were improving a lot on the second passages, but only to match Iliev's times.
Another driver impressed me was the young Titov with DS3 R3. He seemed to progress a lot since his outfit in Janner this January.

On 3:30 you can see a moment when the driver nearly hit the Golf I was staying on front and quite scaried some spectators behind. One of them sit on a chair after that 2 meters behind the bar, refusing to watch the rest "slow" cars :)

Very bad indeed.. Kjaer also destroied his Twingo on some kind of stupid artificial jump:

And Kõrge went off basically on the finish line. Finish was moved 200m forward (without any notice), they cut the corner and 30 cm high inside corner lifted the car.. for next 50 meters. Luckily driver and co-driver are almost OK. Co-dirvers face is described as he looked like a car. Maybe due to fire extinguisher getting loos inside the car and beating him up.

So, yesterday was another round of Estonian Rallisprint Champioship.
It was like two events in one. Sprint and Rally was won by Georg Gross (as he was faster by the end of thrid stage) and the winner of the sprint was Tänak (as he was faster on two rounds).
Tänak was leading before the final stage, but he lost 5th gear and therefeore, he settled for second place.

Confirmed, press release was about a week or so ago.
The car has been in Denmark since early in the year, but was driven for the first time in competition at Fårvang three weeks ago - by Brian..
With the press release, Kim said that Brian had been very positive about the car.
The Maxi was to expensive to run apparently, spare parts are harder and more expensive to find, so the swap was made.
The deal is for the rest of this season and all of 2014.

And remember, Brian owns a major Peugeot dealership, and has bought Jens Ole Kristiansens (Peugeot Dealer Team boss) dealerships as well. :)

I think he is fast indeed.And moreover. I remember when he was driving in WRC Academy. Then their boss told that it is amazing that when other drivers come to service at the end of day (he meant academy winner Breen, spanish hot shoes etc.) their cars were really in bad shape (partly detroyed) and a lot of work was needed in service. Then Egon came to service. He was setting almost identical times (sometimes little slower) and his car needed some washing and polishing only. I would love to see him in JWRC again indeed, he has a lot of potential!

In Denmark, the roadbook for the fourth round of the championship has been published. The race has been promoted 'in secret' as one of the most challenging stage-wise for many years, and in an area almost never used for rallying before. When I say in secret, I mean by word-of-mouth from the organisers, not through press releases - then again, that's how it's done here, you rarely see press releases from the races themselves. Basically, none of the drivers are from anywhere close to the area of the stages, and new stages, so should be everyone starting from scratch on pacenotes purely.
I will be marshalling on stages 1+4 and later on when the stage is reused and expanded into stages 8+10. Will try and do a little update during lunch, if we aren't swamped with the changes to the stage.

Looking forward to seeing the following:
- will Esben Hegelund build on the confidence from having won an event (he won round 3)?
- how will the top guys respond to longer stages than is normal here? Christian Jensen in particular..
- will anyone be able to follow the foreigners? Joachim Grahn (Focus WRC05) and Rune Danneborg (Fiesta S2000) will be here to challenge.
- how will the speed compare between group N and s2000? Tim Svanholt seems to build on his pace every time he's in the car.
- will Kim Madsen be able to win 2wd outright (r2 and r3)? I expect him to take class 2, but will he be able to challenge Hammer and McBride in faster cars?
- Morten Karl or Kenneth Madsen for Tuned National? Kenneth has a brand new engine, claiming 20bhp more and 'significantly' more torque.. And the race is called Suzuki Rally, should be extra motivation.

Should be interesting, weather forecast says cloudy around 17 degrees all day, with scattered mini-showers during the day. Should be a day on slicks all the way through, but this is the Danish weather service we are talking about.. might as well end up being a torrential downpour all day. :)

I'm looking at the results of Kurzeme rally and Lukyanuk has a minute penalty in the first stage. Without it he would be 2-nd overall after 7 stages today. Another very impressive drive if he can keep it on the road until the end.
He went to swim with his car in previuos rally (into the pond) and sadly it looks like it is not good for the cars.. Today he had also some probems.. So, not good to park your car into the lake :-P

Firstly, the rally was (at least for me personally) a bit overshadowed by Klaus Hammer, who had a big off about 6-700 metres after my marshalls post on stage 5. Cut down two trees before hitting a third tree that stopped the car. Really fast place, probably 150-160 kph on a very bumpy road, he lost the rear in a left 4-ish corner, and hit the trees almost immediately. Stage was stopped, as the reports were that it looked really bad, and that both were trapped in the car. Two ambulances and a medical helicopter was called, and were there very quickly.
Luckily, the injuries were fairly minor considering the off, Klaus was flown to hospital with a reported broken shoulder and collarbone, codriver could get out himself and was taken to hospital to be checked over, but no apparent major injuries to him. Very good news considering the reports of the first 10-15 minutes after the crash.

The race itself:
Indeed a victory for Ib, but a very close fight all the way to the final metres of the event.
All day Esben actually looked a lot quicker and more efficient in his driving than Ib, but on the final stage it was clear who had the advantage. Where I timed them (~12 k's into the stage) Ib was 4 seconds up on Esben and equal with Christian. Christian looked stressed all day, and the car was very nervous to look at.
Ib, very smooth, very boring to look at, but got the stage times he needed.

Positives:
Morten Karl! That car just sounds sooooooooo good! And goes like the clappers too, holy moly it's a fast car, with a driver that's not afraid of it! Very impressive, beating all cars except S2000 on stages that were veeery fast and flowing. A pure joy to watch, nothing else can be said.
Jacob Jensen - results might not show it, but the kid certainly does try.. both runs on my second stage of the day (8 and 10) he almost went off in a mega-fast right 4+, and both times he saved it to no apparent loss of time. Very entertaining, although I think he uses underwear as fast as tyres. :eek:
Kjeld Seidler. He might not be super fast, but you can see improvements all the time, and it isn't exactly a perfect car for rallying.. positive attitude, also when I had to stop him after the Hammer off. And the car does have a very crisp sound, a welcome change to the many screaming maxi's and r-cars.
Jesper Bisted. The corner Jacob Jensen almost went off at twice, Bisted did it - and promptly went about 50 metres into a (luckily) newly harvested corn field.. and kept his foot in it until he had righted the ship and made his way back to the stage. Spectators certainly enjoyed it! Driving looked good the rest of the day as well from him.
Steen Andersen. I can't exactly be called his biggest fan, admittedly - but good to see him out of the old Evo 7 and into an Evo X.

Negatives:
Tim Svanholt: Problems all day for the championship leading driver. Got stuck in 5th gear on stage 2 and then had further problems later on as well.
The foreign invaders: Rune Danneborg broke the radiator on stage 2, and Joachim Grahn blew the turbo right next to me also on stage 2 - end of the foreign challenge, but also revealed what nice guys Joachim and Per Andersson are.. they had just retired, and were now stuck in the middle of the stage. What do they do? They signed a boat load of autographs to the local kids, and let them all have a go at sitting in the car! :)
Ib Kragh: He did win the rally, but my gosh he knocked over my chicane every single time he passed it!! And once he took down three barrels in one pass - hard work to fix. ;)
Delays: A lot of them, but then again - having the radio to listen in on meant that I had plenty of information, and most of the delays were caused by one man complaining all .. the .. time! Too bad, but nothing that we could do about it. The race director was out twice to talk to him.. to absolutely no avail unfortunately.


Think that was it, all in all it was an enjoyable day, and the stages looked very technically challenging, even though there were a couple of sections with several seconds of 's2000 on limiter'-syndrome.. :D

Loix has a 5 on 5 now, and want to goes for a 8 on 8. Should be possible! So the title will surely go his way!

Firstly, the rally was (at least for me personally) a bit overshadowed by Klaus Hammer, who had a big off about 6-700 metres after my marshalls post on stage 5. Cut down two trees before hitting a third tree that stopped the car. Really fast place, probably 150-160 kph on a very bumpy road, he lost the rear in a left 4-ish corner, and hit the trees almost immediately. Stage was stopped, as the reports were that it looked really bad, and that both were trapped in the car. Two ambulances and a medical helicopter was called, and were there very quickly.
Luckily, the injuries were fairly minor considering the off, Klaus was flown to hospital with a reported broken shoulder and collarbone, codriver could get out himself and was taken to hospital to be checked over, but no apparent major injuries to him. Very good news considering the reports of the first 10-15 minutes after the crash.

The race itself:
Indeed a victory for Ib, but a very close fight all the way to the final metres of the event.
All day Esben actually looked a lot quicker and more efficient in his driving than Ib, but on the final stage it was clear who had the advantage. Where I timed them (~12 k's into the stage) Ib was 4 seconds up on Esben and equal with Christian. Christian looked stressed all day, and the car was very nervous to look at.
Ib, very smooth, very boring to look at, but got the stage times he needed.

Positives:
Morten Karl! That car just sounds sooooooooo good! And goes like the clappers too, holy moly it's a fast car, with a driver that's not afraid of it! Very impressive, beating all cars except S2000 on stages that were veeery fast and flowing. A pure joy to watch, nothing else can be said.
Jacob Jensen - results might not show it, but the kid certainly does try.. both runs on my second stage of the day (8 and 10) he almost went off in a mega-fast right 4+, and both times he saved it to no apparent loss of time. Very entertaining, although I think he uses underwear as fast as tyres. :eek:
Kjeld Seidler. He might not be super fast, but you can see improvements all the time, and it isn't exactly a perfect car for rallying.. positive attitude, also when I had to stop him after the Hammer off. And the car does have a very crisp sound, a welcome change to the many screaming maxi's and r-cars.
Jesper Bisted. The corner Jacob Jensen almost went off at twice, Bisted did it - and promptly went about 50 metres into a (luckily) newly harvested corn field.. and kept his foot in it until he had righted the ship and made his way back to the stage. Spectators certainly enjoyed it! Driving looked good the rest of the day as well from him.
Steen Andersen. I can't exactly be called his biggest fan, admittedly - but good to see him out of the old Evo 7 and into an Evo X.

Negatives:
Tim Svanholt: Problems all day for the championship leading driver. Got stuck in 5th gear on stage 2 and then had further problems later on as well.
The foreign invaders: Rune Danneborg broke the radiator on stage 2, and Joachim Grahn blew the turbo right next to me also on stage 2 - end of the foreign challenge, but also revealed what nice guys Joachim and Per Andersson are.. they had just retired, and were now stuck in the middle of the stage. What do they do? They signed a boat load of autographs to the local kids, and let them all have a go at sitting in the car! :)
Ib Kragh: He did win the rally, but my gosh he knocked over my chicane every single time he passed it!! And once he took down three barrels in one pass - hard work to fix. ;)
Delays: A lot of them, but then again - having the radio to listen in on meant that I had plenty of information, and most of the delays were caused by one man complaining all .. the .. time! Too bad, but nothing that we could do about it. The race director was out twice to talk to him.. to absolutely no avail unfortunately.


Think that was it, all in all it was an enjoyable day, and the stages looked very technically challenging, even though there were a couple of sections with several seconds of 's2000 on limiter'-syndrome.. :D


And what about Kim Madsen for his first outing in the official 208 R2(finished 12th overall) :confused:

A very serious accident happened during the Amsterdam Rallysprint today. A car crashed into spectators, causing some very bad injuries according to multiple sources (more is not known at this point).
