True, he did. First stages he was slow, last two stages he was on par with Kostka but Kostka had big lead already and no reason to push.

Hello motorsport friends :)

Anders Grřndal has been so lucky to be nominated "sportsman of the year" in Buskerud Norway.

I would be really happy for every vote I can get. If you want to help me and vote it can be done here: http://www.easyresearch.se/s.asp?WID=885008&Pwd=92673219

Yeah! At one point in there we lost the front brakes, so had to do a down hill brake with rears only. It takes time to stop a car with rear brakes only. :)

Thanks :)
Pretty much the same as in 2012. Norwegian 4wd championship with Gr.N car. Swedish Rally in Gr.N car. Hill climb championship with Impreza WRC.
Also I really want to do other national championship rounds in Germany, Denmark, Estonia, Poland. It depends on the budget :)

It would be nice to see you in Finnish Rally Championship challenging Ketomaa and Salo in group N. We have a brand new rally in my hometown Turku in August, so it would be new for the locals too...

So welcome to Turku!

For sure, it would be great fun to challenge the finish drivers! I know how fast they are! Even faster on home rallies with high speed and big jumps.
I will have a closer look at national championship rallies when my budget is 110% secured.

In Turku area we don't have many jumps, but extremely fast and flowing wide roads, hard roadbase guarantees great conditions. I've driven that Turku-rally in national rallies driven without notes for about 10 times, and it is definitely my favourite rally in Finland!

Here's some tasters of Turku-ralli's actions

@Aykutbilir: Any news about 2013 season?

Too many gossips but no clear press release for 2013 from any team yet Tolis.
Castrol Ford Team Turkey (CFTT) will probably go with a pair of Fiesta S2000 and a pair of Fiesta R2 as usual. We heard that team have some plans about Yagiz Avci will run some races of ERC. Not official as i say before.

There are no clear news about Pegasus Racing yet. May be Luca Rossetti back to defend his title with Fabia S2000.

Next sunday (6 th of Jan) TRC have prize giving ceremony im sure we learn for more there :)

The best ten i every class, will drive the third round. Fastest in third time the drive the stage is Swedish Champion( In two classes)

Freddy Loix is codriving Pieterjanmichiel Cracco (17 years old) indeed. He is going to guide him through the first events. Cracco Jr is being prepared for a rally-carreer, has been following lessons at Urmo Aava his rally-school too. He will have a full program with several events in Estonia with a 206 N3, and events in Belgium with 208 R2, perhaps some events in France with a 208 R2 as well. In those events he should be co-driven by some experienced Belgian codrivers (such as Björn Degandt and Fred Miclotte I think).

Not disappointing at all. The car is new to her and she have not been able to test it properly yet.
So it will take some time for her to get used to the car. I think this was only the 2nd time she drove the car.
So did the right by not risking anything in her first race with the new car.

No, it is dissapointing, if you're good at driving, and you have a good car, you give everything, and she had some testing with the car. So, in my opinion, this is again one of the cases where ambitions exceed substance. And believe me, I have nothing against women in rallying, or racing in general.

Nah she did one short test the other day but she was not able to test hardly anything because of some issue with the gearbox.
They had planned to to do Finnskogsvalsen but the mentioned gearbox problems put a halt to that.
And a new car is a new car. Especially if you don't have experience in WRC cars.

I don't think you realize the big differences between driving a Lancer Evo X grp N which is
larger/heavier with less power compared to a Fabia WRC which is smaller, lighter and with much more power.

She also have not done a winter rally in almost two years.

As it was shortly mentioned in different topic:
Deividas Jocius won Halls Winter Rally, first round of Lithuanian Rally Champs held in great snowy conditions in Utena. There was great fight for the win as after 112 stage kms top three was separated by only 7,4sec. Second was Butvilas (+1,1s), third Svedas (+7,4s). It was very nice event, choosen also by some crews as test before ERC round in Latvia held week later.

He deserves a WRC, so it's good to see him with S11. It's better than the DS3 or an old Lancer. And it's a sign of money too !

Isn't your news about Donnelly one year old ?
EUGENE WILL BE IN GALWAYPosted: January 29, 2013 9:34 PM
As the final countdown to the Safety Direct Galway International Rally rapidly approaches, Donnelly Motorsport are delighted to announce the renewal of their sponsorship agreement with Colm Quinn and their entry into the first round of the Irish Tarmac Championship with the McGeehan Motorsport John Cooper Works MINI WRC.

Speaking this morning, Eugene said,
“I am delighted to be involved with Colm Quinn and McGeehan Motorsport giving me the opportunity to drive the WRC MINII again. Colm Quinn and his team in MINI Athlone have pulled out all the stops to make this happen and I must say I am so excited about driving the new WRC RHD MINI. The experience from last year should help in getting a good result and with Mark Kane sitting alongside me for the event I am really looking forward to the slippery roads of Galway. I would like to extend my thanks to Lakeland Tyres, Lisnaskea for their support also and look forward to a safe and enjoyable rally.”

After the success of the partnership in 2012, both Eugene and Colm Quinn are anxious to revive the momentum of what was dubbed as MINI’s return to Rallying with Colm saying “The MINI WRC’s performance thrilled spectators last year providing a closely fought race, after the days rallying the MINI WRC finished a close 2nd, beaten only by 1.2 seconds having had to deal with 2 punctures during the day. We are delighted to have Eugene back on board along with McGeehan Motorsport and look forward to a thrilling display on Sunday”.

McGeehan Motorsport expect that this year’s entry, the latest WRC.01B Right Hand Drive version of the MINI WRC, to be even more competitive than the 2012 entry, with it being the only right hand drive car built by any current WRC Manufacturer. McGeehan Motorsport has been responsible for the final development on behalf of Prodrive who are the FIA Manufacturer.

Everyone involved with Donnelly Motorsport along with Colm Quinn would like to thank the general media for their support and coverage of the Rally and to all the Marshalls, Time-keepers, Officials, Competitors, Spectators and everyone involved with the Rally, we wish a safe and enjoyable weekends rallying to all, both on the stages and off.

Nope, it's hot off the press for 2013!!!

So far Tidemand is in a class of his own. Over 2 minutes ahead of the 2nd placed driver Jaari Saarinen.

Ramona is still a bit off-pace but have not done any testing due to the warm weather during the past week.
She had an off at SS2 and spent something like half an hour in a snow bank/ditch before she could get going again.

Also again there have been timing problems. The times noted by the marshals does not match the times at the official results page.

Pontus Tidemans wins with a margin of 3.12 minutes. Jaari Saarinen finished second and Robin Friberg was third
overall 12 seconds behind Saarinen. Friberg however was the winner of his class.

Prokop not so fast...

Ostberg had engineproblems the first stages, and he and Prokop drove with wide WRC-tyres for testing before Sweden. Mikkelsen drove with normal "nordic" narrow tyres and had an advantage.

This weekend there will be South Estonian winterrally. Conditions are just great. There is approximately 50 cm of snow, little-bit more is expected in next few days and temperature during the rally will be around -3..-8 degrees. Currently it looks like it will be the best winterrally in 2013 so far (conditions I mean).

I'm really looking forward for both events, especially Guimarăes, the new location of Rallye Targa. In the Nineties, I used to start my season as spectator in this event when it was called Rallye Sopete (then called Casino da Póvoa and after that Torrié). It was very disappointing when the rally was moved from Ponte de Lima and changed the surface from asphalt to gravel. This season I was expecting a return to places as Vilar de Mouros or Estorăos, but Viana do Castelo wasn't chosen as the new location. In any case, it will be nice to see again CPR on asphalt in the North. Briteiros or Santuário da Penha will be challenging stages.

Watching the new crews in Serras de Fafe will be great too. Rallying on those historical roads always is!

Any opinions after Vorumaa Talveralli? Why Lukyanuk lost so much time? Off or mechanical? Also Cracco not very impressive times, but OK, it's his first time in Estonia and probably first time in such conditions.

Now to our Austrian friends:
What can you say about Rebenland Rallye? We think to do it as a test event.

About Vőrumaa Talveralli, first I have to say , the conditions were incredible, a true winter rally! Lukyanuk lost time in 5th stage after a flat tyre, same problem for Plangi, but he retired because he didnt had the right size wrench with him !! , and coudnt change the wheel. I was really impressed by Timmu Kőrge, he was faster than Lukyanuk right from the start, and in stage end comments Lukyanuk sounded like he coudnt do anything about it, also very nice drive by Sander Pärn, it was his first time in Mitsubishi and he was doing the same times as Lukyanuk.
About Crocco, first, it was very strange seeing Freddy Loix in the passenger seat of a rather slow moving 206 ! :D And second, I got the impression from Fredys interviews that is was Croccos first rally overall ? but he got to the end , and I think thats was the main goal.

Wim_Impreza
17th February 2013, 10:57
As far as I know, it was Cracco's first rally. He is only 17 year old, so he can't drive rallies in Belgium yet. That is why he will drive some Estonian events this year with a 206 RC. Later this year when he will be 18 years, he will also drive Belgian rallies with a 208 R2 and probably also 2 or 3 gravel rallies for the French championship, where his father and sponsor Philipp Cracco will be competing with a 207 S2000.

was codriving there last year, very nice twisty stages, 100% tarmac, not too bumpy, many cuts, so quite dirty roads, uphill, downhill, very challenging, and it was even well organised for a first timer, can suggest it 100%....maybe service park is a little bit strange (whole village of Leutschach is actually the service park), but no problem and nice atmosphere...

btw: some stages were former stages of rally Maribor

Alberto Hevia sells it because the car will stand throughout the year. It has to be operated in a short back problems, herniated disc, and will be low throughout the year.

As stated by Pluto, if you end Skoda manufactures R5, may bring a unit in 2014 to Spain.

Just to let you know, they are hideously complicated and split into a multitude of different documents.
The sporting regulations are found on this page: Dansk Automobil Sports Union - DASU - Motorsport i Danmark - Rallyreglementer (http://www.dasu.dk/web/rally/rallyreglementer)
and technical regulations are through the line of text ALL LIKE THIS (full caps lock).

In case you dont speak Danish, you will most likely struggle a lot with them though, consider yourself warned. :)

If it isn't allowed, then I'd say probably 90% of competitors run illegal tyres. Only the very top guys run specific inters and wet tyres, everyone else use cuts.
I'll try and have a look at the rules, but from what I've seen I'd say it's legal.

Edit - just checked.
Paragraph 50.7 of the 2012 sporting regs (2013 version is not out yet..) says:

50.7 OPSKĆRING
Forsćtlig ćndring af designet pĺ dćkket er kun tilladt i serviceomrĺdet.

50.7 Tyre cutting
Intentional changes to the design of the tyre is only allowed in the Service Park.

In other words: Go for it, cut away. :)

A quick recap of the Danish competitors getting ready for Wikinger Rallye this next weekend:
NB: I refer to the list of drivers entered, which should be final now as the entry date has been passed..

Division A: S2000, R4, R5, N4 4wd, GpA 4wd (non-WRC), R-GT, GT-2 and GT-3
Largely unchanged, still the Peugeot Dealer Team with Christian Jensen and Esben Hegelund in S2000s, but there is mounting chatter about R5s coming at some point..
Tim Svanholt (Evo IX), Ib Kragh (207 S2000) and Steen Andersen (Evo VII) return in the same cars as last year, no changes there.
Biggest change:
No Max Christensen, and no news as to why. No Brian Madsen, he will be team manager for younger brother Kim instead. Money the issue here, and this was announced a long time ago.
Expectations:
Christian Jensen the clear favorite, has been the 'quickest driver in the fastest car' (vs. Kragh and Hegelund), should take another championship home. Definite disappointment if not. My guess: Champion.
Hegelund has grown a fair bit of outright pace over the last year and a half, I expect him to maybe challenge for his first win when he has that day nothing goes wrong. Had a big off at the final round of the championship for the second year running, but that shouldn't be any hindrance based on what he happened last year. My guess: Top 3, challenger.
Svanholt: To my mind the fastest GpN-driver in the field, needs to finish rallies and build confidence, then he could challenge the Dealer Team on good days. Great advantage on the really fast stages, as witnessed on some events last year, where GpN cars dominated certain stages. My guess: Top 3, challenger.
Kragh, Andersen: Lacks outright pace on Jensen, and in the same car, he should struggle and count on the misfortune of others. Kragh fell off the pace last year compared to '11 where he had winning pace on certain events. Andersen - spectacular, but needs to be more consistent for a title challenge, as the car is not quick enough in itself. Similar major advantage to Svanholt on fast events.
My guess: Top 5 both, outsiders.
The others: Several returning drivers, but none expected to challenge for the title. Names like Steen Johansen, Jens Christian Pilgaard, Dan Pedersen, Dennis Pleidrup. All in N4 cars.
Might be a dark horse in Torben Sřrensen (Impreza), he was fast in his old Clio, but has yet to show major pace in the Subaru. Podiums from him would be a surprise at this point.
Complete unknown: Tom Pedersen (owner of Padborg Park racetrack, former DTC driver) was signed up for Wikinger in the long awaited Opel Corsa, but has now been changed to a Seat Cupra in class 4. Codriven by Hans Marx, ultra-experienced guy who has codriven for Karl-Ĺge Jensen among others.

Division B: In-homologation 2wd cars, R2s, R3s, S1600s etc.The championship is going to be a bit of a lottery, as very few have got everything completely sorted, so a prediction is so much of a lottery that I won't make any.. Firstly I will just name a few that won't be at Wikinger, but will be intriguing to follow later this season.
Jacob Jensen confirmed in his new 208 R2, it is in Denmark, but missing parts means no Wikinger for him. Looking forward to seeing him in a faster car after a long time in the N2 Saxo, which he seemed to have grown out of as a driver.
The Peugeot Dealer Team has another 208, but it will not be present at Wikinger, and so far there has been no news as to the plans for it. Will be interesting to see how this turns out. A specific driver has been rumoured extensively to the car, but as nothing has been announced I will not name him. :)
Simon Larsen still has his C2, but is not entered at Wikinger, where he would have been clear favorite for R2 honours - he drove the Haspengouw (and is entered for the full Junior championship), but said that the first round was a test to see whether they would do the entire series. Not entering Wikinger tells me that he will be in Belgium for the entire season.
Rasmus Christiansen announced a fair while ago that he had acquired a C2, which was phase 1 of the project. Phase 2 was the budget to drive it, that has apparently not been put together, he is not entered..
Marco Gersager (Corsa S1600): DISCLAIMER - I am involved in the team, just so you know..
Had an engine meltdown last year, which cost him the season. Everything was lined up for the car to be ready for Wikinger stronger than ever, but tardy delivery of a few (very few) vital engine parts has meant that it will not be ready for Wikinger. Parts were ordered last fall, which just makes it even more annoying.
The plans are not for a full season in the championship, but I expect him to challenge for the win in the group when we do show up for an event.
At Wikinger: The car that should win the group at Wikinger is a Clio R3, namely Klaus Hammer. He is in a Maxi, and up against a 'regular' Clio in the hands of Carsten Jensen, who does have the advantage of intimate knowledge of his car, whereas Hammer hasn't driven his in anger yet.
Other challengers are in C2s, Frank Nielsen, Claus Lisberg and Verner Boiskov. They should not have the pace to keep up with the R3s.Norwegian Joar Andre Obrestad will be a bit of an unknown in his Fiesta R2.

Division C: The class for old Maxis, Kit Cars and nationally homologated 2wd cars.
Last years champion Kenneth Madsen (Suzuki Swift Maxi 2000) is not on the current entry list, which is a bit of a mystery, as he was one of the few that was at the official test day last weekend and did 7 runs. Nothing has been written on why he wouldn't be there, I semi-expect him to in fact.
Returnee Kim Madsen (306 Maxi) will be the favorite if the Suzuki is indeed a no-show. He has a new codriver, but also has the addition of brother Brian as team manager to push him forward. He seemed to struggle to gain the necessary confidence in the car during last season, so I look for him to keep on the upwards curve pace-wise. If there are two Maxis at Wikinger, I predict a fight between them.
Former overall champion Morten Karl has pulled the M3 E36 out of the garage again - if he can get back to his former form, then he could definitely annoy the two Madsens. At the very least it will be a car that will pull the on-stage quality up, both through sound and a bit of sideways action!
Benny Pedersen is absent on the entry list as well, very quiet around him at the moment, so probably won't mount a championship challenge.
Young Sebastian Aagaard (Clio II RS) is a talent, and never afraid to give a bit of go-fast pedal, but his experience at the top level is limited, he will be very interesting to follow. The car is a beauty to look at, very very nice paint job.
Kenneth Kolbe (205 Maxi) makes his return to the championship, the car is still blue, the driver is still a bit mental, overall he will be more of a spectator-pleaser than a threat in the time sheets. Beaten thoroughly by Aagaard at the test day, if that is anything to go by.
Kjeld Seidler (Peugeot RCZ) still runs with the Peugeot Dealer Team where he is a driving force behind the scenes, but the car is not the same. He calls it the 'Evo 2' himself, what I have heard is that the car is 'the other car' in the team that he has now rebuilt from race to rally-spec. Wouldn't expect much different from him, he adds a little bit of pace every time he sits in the car, but I doubt it is fast enough to challenge the Maxis.

Division D: The old Standard National, Groups E and expired-N up to 2L.
One word pretty much sums it all up: Boooooooooooooooooooring!
Reigning double champion Morten Grove Nielsen will not be returning, he definitely grew out of the car, and seemingly has been unable to put together a programme in a higher division. Huge loss to this division, as he was the class of the field.
At Wikinger, 4 cars are entered: Two Clio II's and two new homebuilt cars.
In the Clios, Henrik Larsen should be the fastest, he was the stable number 2 behind Grove last year, which meant that he was in with a shot at the title at the final round. The car might be a 'Ragnotti', he isn't..
New cars are unknowns, the drivers in them are known capacities.
Nicolai Jensen (Peugeot 207) spent all of last year building the car, it ran at the test day, but may suffer from teething problems. Was within a second of Larsen at the test day on the best time done.
Rene Harms (Suzuki Swift Sport) also waited most of last year for the car to be finished, but drove it for the last two rounds. Is a man who enjoys his rallying immensely, but is probably the epitomy of the gentleman driver. Again, may suffer from teething problems.

Phew, that was a massive post - didn't plan it that way, but hey? What do you do? :D

First round of the Brazilian Championship this weekend. It will Rally Montanhas de Canela, on the south of Brazil. Entry list has 46 names - I know that it might not look like a big number, but for us here in Brazil is a huge number. I'd say the last time we had an entry list this big was around 10 years ago.

For this year we'll have 4 classes: 4x4, Class 6, a Peugeot 207 class, and Class 9. On 4x4 are allowed Class 3 cars, R4 and the Brazilian project XRC. We'll have 5 rounds, the next on on May and will also count as the opening round of the FIA Codasur Championship.

For those interested the rally can be followed on this link Cobertura ao Vivo do Rally de Canela 2013 - Campeonato Brasileiro de Rally 2013 (http://www.rallybr.com.br/1-evento-rally-de-canela/cobertura-ao-vivo/cobertura-ao-vivo-do-rally-de-canela-2013)

The 4x4 Class have 9 cars, the biggest number on the last years. For this year, some changes were made for the Championship. For example, the driver had to pay the entry fee of all 5 events until March 1. This was made to guarantee that until the last event all drivers would be running.

Thank you very much. :)

And just to add to my former post - Max, Kenneth and Jesper Bisted have now been added to the list, they were the guys I was surprised not to see earlier.
Bisted lacks outright pace on the Madsens, so at most I see podiums for him in Division C.
