When I was in Stavelot in Belgium few weeks ago I saw a Sierra of Droogmans (plus other cars with big names), the same car I saw many years ago in Poland during Rally Poland! That was really something!

Last year Christoforos won in the ancient golf II. Gerodimos also might have a chance with the monster golf kit car but its his first rally with it and he never had experience with a proper rally car before (Honda Type R N3 last year).

Its going to be a roullette rally...i think we might have a few not so big surprises.....i will attend the event and will report back.

The rally is over Kyrkos as expected won and Halivelakis was 2nd, the 3rd place went to christoforos by 0.19 seconds !!!! Zachos did a magnifiscent 2nd best time on the final ss (just .2sec off kyrkos 1st place) but wasn't enough....the fight was between christoforos (local and last years winner) Zachos (renault clio A7) and Gerodimos (Golf kit Car A7) before the last stage the difference between the 3 was 4 seconds.

Some news/rumours from Finnish Rally Championship few weeks before summer season starts:
- Championship leaders Salo and Lindroos will upgrade to R4 versions (Evo X and Impreza), but not necessarily ready for the next round in Hämeenlinna (May 14th)
- Kristian Sohlberg will drive Subaru in Hämeenlinna
- Janne Tuohino is said to bought Fiesta S2000
- Matti Rantanen is said to consider a car change for summer rounds, but to what car, no news. He could end up using several makes in the process.

Next round in Hämeenlinna is more of a sprint-type event with four normal SS and one tarmac SSS. Recced in the morning, run in the day, party in the evening kind of deal.

Last two FRC rounds are run in Lapua (June 11th) and Kerava (September 17th). Those two rallies will have an extra class for Vetomies title, Group F race, that some might remember as part of NORF or Lahti Historic ERC from past years.

Some news/rumours from Finnish Rally Championship few weeks before summer season starts:
- Championship leaders Salo and Lindroos will upgrade to R4 versions (Evo X and Impreza), but not necessarily ready for the next round in Hämeenlinna (May 14th)
- Kristian Sohlberg will drive Subaru in Hämeenlinna
- Janne Tuohino is said to bought Fiesta S2000
- Matti Rantanen is said to consider a car change for summer rounds, but to what car, no news. He could end up using several makes in the process.

Next round in Hämeenlinna is more of a sprint-type event with four normal SS and one tarmac SSS. Recced in the morning, run in the day, party in the evening kind of deal.

Last two FRC rounds are run in Lapua (June 11th) and Kerava (September 17th). Those two rallies will have an extra class for Vetomies title, Group F race, that some might remember as part of NORF or Lahti Historic ERC from past years.

Who is Laurent Viana with a C4 WRC ?

He drove most of the time of the past years in the Slovakian Rally Championship, always in a Citroën C2 R2 or a C2 R2 Max. He did the Barum Rally in 2007 and this year the Rallye Lyon-Charbonnières with a DS3 R3T.

So, what car will Tuohino drive now? A rented Fiesta S2000?

No sign of Tuohino yet on the entry list. Entries close on Tuesday May 3rd. So far 49 crews. On the same day, 25 kms south from Hämeenlinna, there is Historic Rally Trophy/Junior FRC/Ladies FRC event Black Rocket Rally which entries closed yesterday with respectable 258 crews. It'd make a good rallying day to first see the historic cars et al. in the midday and then see last stage of FRC event in the afternoon. We'll see.

Here. Melichárek retired before SS1 (don't know reason), Orsák engine SS1, Grzyb out also on SS7. Sandell had double puncture and lost 8 minutes so Béreš is in comfortable lead. Viana and Trněný in WRC cars are slower than Cserhalmi in Evo IX whose last rally was two years a go. Among 2WD very young talented Koči is fastest before another young driver Nagy.

I was on Rally Presov. Big respect for Sandell, Beres, Grzyb, Koci and Baffy. Viana was verrrrrry slow. In fast section when all drivers including another WRC rode on full gas he slowed down. Also probably that was my last rally in Slovakia. They have good stages but after 3SS i watched only 20 cars...

For a Country that has it's own forum section, it's a bit sad so less information and news are posted. David Bogie won the Pirelli International Rally in his Evo IX, followed by 2 Skoda's of Barrable and Greer. Evans, who won the last event, was 4th. McCormack won the Formula 2 class in his DS3, only 19secs ahead of Korhonen in a Ford Fiesta. The Formula 2 will be the main class next year, I guess that's why these cars get the lowest nr's :) Looking forward to the MotorsTV program :)

Me too Mirek me too. It is a real shame that Finnish organizers prefer to make parties more than rallies... Once our rally championships was the best national rally championships - but times do change.

Same - but it have been promoted as a mini rally from the start, so I've kind of adapted the idea that it will be a short one. Then again this should be nice addition to the championship with perhaps another full-lenght event on May. But if this attracts new crowds, it's worth something. From competition point of view, not so much. On the next FRC event in Lapua competetive mileage should be around 80-90 km which is good for one day event, long stages too.

It is true, that Turk constantly loses against Pech&Longhi, but nowebody expected from Rok Turk to be in a fight with both of them. They are still professionals, Longhi is more than 15 years older than him and has in those last 15 years droven from Megane kit-car, Toyota's Celica&Corolla WRC, Impreza WRC, Impreza N9, N10, N11, N12b, Fabia S2000,P207 S2000.....and Turk is driving his fifth rally in S2000 car.....If you look this facts, he is good, isn't he???
IMHO Turk is more than solid as he is faster than Behalek, Štajf, Gassner and Šlehofer...
On the other side it is a pleasure to watch driving skills of Longhi&Pech in a rally in Slovenia as we can count both among top 10 best rally drivers in Europe...

Still they are both multiple national champions in the championships which both count to the toughest national championships. For me personaly they count to the top drivers, regardless of your opinion...Do not look yust two-theree years back: Longhi was from 2006 until today driving uncompetetive cars (Impreas N4, last year and this year he is driving Twister Corse P207 S2000 and he is strugling all the time with technical issues...), Pech is more than a hero with his old evo9 against troops of S2000 cars...

Some problems for Longhi today? He was setting times like Běhálek or Šlehofer, that's not normal for me.

Longhi was using intermediate tires in heavy rain. He insisted with this tyres (with extra cuts) even on the second loop, no matter what the Target people (including Aleks Humar) suggested ...

there are 6 stages on tarmac 3 stages which are repeated...2 very steep downhill stages (the stage karavoma starts at 1000m altitude and the finish is around 200m within 20kms) and one uphill

I have never spectated this rally before and i am spectating for 14 years now.....i always wanted to go there but believe it or not there was always some crazy reason and never went (its only 250kms from where i live) but this year i will be there if it doesn't rain since motorbikes are not weatherproof yet....the weather is starting to get hotter and it looks like summer is upon us here so everything looks good for me.

Jarek, if you look yust final results, you are right....but if Longhi really has choosen the uncorrect tires yesterday in heavy rain, the gap behind Pech is understandable.....
So, weather forecast for next five-six days looks good, no rain, so that Longhi will not have any chance to ''fail'' with tire choice.....
IMHO Longhi will be in the fight for a victory....I'm going to Rijeka on Thursday afternoon to see first stages and than we will know more details, who will be on a charge.....

The 1st and 3rd SS are uphill (the new SS3 has a small downhill part at the end). SS2 is all downhill and one of my favourite ss to spectate in Greece.
Wheather predictions give around 28-29 degrees for the weekend so it looks like we are going for a nice rally! Since we are not doing the live radio in this rally I will be spectating too...so see you there :)

It will be! The rally center is in Ib Kraghs hometown, Juelsminde, so he really wants to win this one. The final stage is even passing his house.
The promotors for the Danish Rally Championship is trying to raise the public profile of rallying in Denmark this year and they have managed to arrange both the shakedown and the final stage in the center of Juelsminde - a small town at the coast of eastern Jutland. The shakedown will be friday evening and the final stage will be saturday evening and both are expected to draw lots of spectators. A rallystage in a town is something new in Denmark and it will be very interesting to see, how it works out.

I don't know exact Slovak rules but here in CZ it's without penalty if the barrel/columns of tyres or whatever doesn't move completely outside of a drawing of it's original position (this case). Than there are degrees 5-10-30 seconds according to the violation. For 30 You have to break through completely.

I don´t know if it has been posted before but, two spectators died yesterday and another one is seriously injured, after being hit in a rallysprint in Cordoba (Spain). They were standing in a forbidden area next to a left curve. Sorry, maybe this isn´t the proper thread because it wasn´t a national championship rallysprint, but a regional one. Anyway, it´s sad news. The event was cancelled after the accident
