The final round of the Austrian Rally Championship “Rallye Waldviertel” took place this weekend around Horn / Lower Austria.

Raimund Baumschlager achieved his goal to win all of this years championship rounds and scored another great victory at the Rallye Waldviertel driving his Skoda Fabia S2000.

Beppo Harrach (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX) and Andreas Aigner (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X) were the strongest opponents of Baumschlager at the tarmac and gravel mixed event.

The final results are still provisional after a protest against Beppo Harrach.

I dont know, but i think level in international event's are too high for him. He wanna fight for 1 place but i dont hes able to win in IRC or some WR series.
He have some mystical GB sponsors now too.

Yes, if someone wants to gain experience over different European events and still have a good chance for some international title, ERC is a choice.

Darko Peljhan? He must take more risks to be as fast as talented Humar. The results of more agressive driving (cutting the corners) are flat tyres. On the other hand no (big) problems for EVO X.

Little surprisingly Janne Tuohino is continuing his rallying career and will drive Finnish Rally Championship series with his own Ford Fiesta S2000.

Also some WRC events behind the wheel of the new 1.6T World Rally Car are possible. Is it be possible to drive WRC events, because he was excluded from the SWRC series, but maybe the FIA sanction have an effect on only to his team Janpro...

But great to see some more S2000 cars competing in Finland..!

I don't think they have more plans currently. This event should be preparations for first round of polish rally champs. Only problem is in Estonia you can use long studs and in Poland just short ones...

This is his son, Martin Schanche Jr.
He drive 3-4 rallies a year. He is also the organizer of Rally Stavanger every year.

The Subaru Cup stopped before this season. But Aasen really impress. I think he soon will be 19years old.

Aasen certainly got noticed last year and it would be great if he can follow in Petter and Andreas' footsteps and get onto the world stage. Any reason why the Subaru Cup ended? I see a lot of entrants still use the Subaru STi.

Huh! Just came form South-Estonian Winter Rally and the emotion is veeeeeery nice. The snow-walls on the side of the road were so high and thick that you were able to walk on those easily. It was like "helicopter view" for all the stages (well, mostly the walls were something like 2 m high)! The weather was perfect (-5..-7, some sun, some clouds, some wind). Many spectators. Koitla and Pärn (first rally in 4WD - with Tänak´s old car) in 4WD car were veeery fast and nice to watch.
The only downside of the stage was Remmak´s crash. We decided to wait for the second running of the stage and he was first starter. So, we saw three zero cars, Remmak and four more cars. But good thing is that he escape without any injuries. It happened somewhere in the middle of the stage when he landed badly from the jump. The car rolled and spun several times and the only thing that was not broken in the car was side mirror :-( Well, he is very nice guy and it was very good car.

I've been following the rally at home and I liked the final fight betwen Koitla and Pärs.
In fact, after the withdrawal of Gross, the rally become very interesting.

Pärn, not Pärs :-) Pärs was little bit further behind. Pärs by the way, had a huge moment on the first stage at the first junction. There is a long straight with one bigger jump, then another smaller jump and then there is another crest but only 20 meters after the crest there is a junction to the right. So, Pärs missed the braking point completely and had a third jump from the last crest as well:-) Instead of turning right he went downhill to another road for approximately 150-200 meters before he managed to stop the car and reverse. Luckily marshals did a great job and there were no cars or no people on that road.
Pärn by the way broke the front right axle at the stage nr 6 on heavy landing and then he lost some time that dropped him from the first position but he recovered to get second place.

Murakas rented the car (retired after stage 2 with broken gearbox) from Salo and he said that there is an option to buy the car as well. Is Salo planning to change the car or class? Or some other plans?

And by the way. Last two stages were in darkness and Koitla was not able to switch on his light pod, So, he drove two final stages with normal lights.

After his win on Madeira 2004 I'm observing Sa's carrier more closley and it is almost same story every year: he reserves him top-material in terms of a car, but then at the end of the season there is nothing special to show regarding successes on the races. He tried with official Abarth, with Mitsu evo9, few P207S2k, but I don't remeber anything special achived, he has enough time (and $$$) to afford himselfe enough tests...Anyway, let's hope this year will be different with more success!

It looks like that in 2011 we will see in Slovenian Championship one Peugeot 207 S2000 (Rok Turk is already comfirmed, http://www.rok-turk.si/) and at least one Škoda Fabia S2000. Kandidates for the seat are ex. Slovenian and Croatian Champion (2007, 2008) Tomaž Kaučič, 2009 Champion Darko Peljhan and Mitja Klemenčič.
There is also a possibility that we will have too Fabias, but this is only a rumour. :eek:

Rally Ljubljana is postponed to november, but is still unclear if it will be held. We are waiting for the list of entries of Rally Lavanttal (1. rally for Slovenian Championship), because there are rumors that our Champion Alex Humar may drive a Škoda Fabia S2000. We just have to wait for a few more days ...

before that there is Rally Thermaikos....but its only a local event counting towards the North Greece Rally Cup. Its held in some of the best tarmac stages the country has to offer.

on the day of the event (sunday from 11:00 pm Local time +2GTM) you have to click on the thin red band with the number 40 and the gibberish greek letters afterwards ....because they will have live timing from a hillclimb event and also from a karting event.

this place is roaming with our kind the last few days so i am sure someone will help you on the day of the event to go to results if you cannot find them...i will attend the event and provide info and pictures if you want.

yeah different areas have different noise level restrictions...in some areas in Swiss you are not allowed to have the engine running if you operate a truck and you are stopped.

Noise levels are usually high on active airfields and this former military airbase is maybe close to villages but still it's not that close. Planes taking off make much more noise.
Btw- it looks I was there on my trip to Rally van Haspengouw few weeks ago :)

Wow , what a great entry for Eger :) Will be VERY interesting the ultimate Evo duel , Ašin vs. ASI . Janika and Butor will definetely mix with these two great drivers in their 207s . Also , great WRCs on the entry ( Grzyb with a C4 - a very good driver , is it a sure win withe the C4 ? ) . All in all - a great entry list , really wish I could go on those beautiful fast stages again

Back from a very eventful rally (witnessed 3 spins and 2 junction overshots) the conditions were bad but could be worse and so i am happy...the rally was won by Karavasilis and his peugeot 106 s16....the guy was just AMAZING !!!!! trully memorable drive. The driver is local but to be honest and fair most of the drivers competing had great experience of the stages since most of the live not more than 70kms from the stages ...you can find my pictures here.
