No Humar :(

I spoke with Humar and he said to me that they were late by sending the entry form to the organisators. Reason: late decision of the Target team. So let's hope they will let him drive with his C2 R2 Max ... :s hock:

On weekend 27-28 March, 2nd round of Greek Rally Championship, Olympiako Rally, and on the entrylist there is the Corsa S2000 of Kaltsounis. Let's hope it starts this time.

Apart from that, Vovos, Papajim, and Kirkos Jnr will have another nice fight!

Too bad Hatzitsopanis will not participate this year in all rounds of the championship.

Very bad entry compared to last year on Tank-S rally :(

I understand why there's no Van Eldik, but how about Wevers, Kuipers's family, De Vinkel, Merksteijn's, Pipers, Abbring or Weijs? They don't start in national championship at all?

Wim_Impreza
21st March 2009, 11:38
Last year, the Tank S Rally was a round for the 'Euro Rally Challenge' and this year not. Mark van Eldik is still recovering of his huge crash in Hellendoorn Rally last year and he thinks that Hellendoorn Rally in September will be his first rally of the year. Off course the economic crisis is there too, but the other reason why the entry list isn't good is that mainly all the top drivers (Wevers, René Kuipers and Dennis Kuipers, de Winkel, Piepers, van Merksteijn jun. and sr.), expect Jasper van den Heuvel, will do the 'Euro Rally Challenge' this year.

Kevin Abbring and Hans Weijs jun. do the JWRC. They will probably compete in 1 or 2 rallies in the Netherlands. The Van Merksteijn's do WRC Portugal and Finland, Euro Rally Challenge and some of the bigger national events. Harry Kleinjan won't do a rally this year, probably one or two rallysprints with his old Golf II. :(

The second rally for the Dutch championship, Sezoensrally in Belgium at the end of May, will be a very big event as it counts for the 'Euro Rally Challenge', Belgian Championship and this year the Dutch championship.

Marcel Piepers drove two weeks ago the 'Rallye Hannut' in Belgium. He will again be in his Honda Civic Type-R R3 this season. On his site http://www.piepersrallysport.nl/, there is mention that they will annouce their calendar soon. At this moment, they will drive the 'Euro Rally Challenge' and the 'Account Software Rallysprint' on 22 August.

First round of swiss championship in France(Pays du Gier)with duel between Burri(Grande Punto S2000), Lavio, von Dach(both in 207 S2000s) and Gonon(Subaru N12)...but for the overall rally victory, french drivers Romeyer and Grohens will have the best weapons(206 wrc)...

2007 and 2008 Turkish Hillclimb Category 4 Champion Renault Maxi Megane driver Cem Acar is to do the Turkish Rally Championship onboard a Fiat Grande Punto S2000. It will be his first outing after a long time. He became '98 and '99 Russian Rally Champion with a Lancia Delta. The car will be prepared and run by ST Racing. The Grande Punto was used by Volkan Işık in several ERC rallies.

Just let me recommend the following combination as it is easy to reach and without a lot of stress to accomplisch

SS 8 & 10 - The last action point directly before the finish line - Great place
http://www2.bprallye.at/2009/SP/prebl.html

SS 11 & 13 - This is a spectacular stage from my point of view. Maybe you were on the wrong place. There are a lot of good places and some gravel sections about two km from the start.

Tragedy in Corsica today !!!! Local driver Jean-Michel Pietri had an accident during testing of his new Clio F2000(after having successfully driven 306 and Megane Maxis, he tried this new group this year)and died of injuries !!! ;( ;(

His codriver for the occasion was his team's preparator/boss who was less seriously injured but carried to hospital...

Condolences to family and friends of Pietri :(

Just arrived from Alicante (2900 Km in 3 days hehe). Well not a very good rallye. New Gr.N + are too young and almost all had problems. Vallejo broke his porsche´s engine and ojeda had transmission problems...they replaced his gearbox and clutch on the first service...Also Vinyes had a heavy off road before losing a wheel on a fast zone (5th or 6th gear).Pons had injection problems and Avińo a puncture on the first stage of the section doing 2 stages with a little wheel.(problems of space in GT´s). Burgo broke the center differential.So...fuster was alone...
Fuster won but...in my opinion he´s not fast enough yet...won cause he didnt have any kind of problem...

Yes, but extremely fast Eger stages are not good for S2000 (for example SS3/6 was over 140 km/h!).

Yes he was speeding in a village, he was doing 105 km/h where the speedlimit is 50 km/h, so he lost his driving license immediately. Apparently it will be Wim Soenens himself who will drive the Subaru WRC in TAC rallye. :(
Rather stupid thing to do with the experience he has, it is known for years that police is controlling speed, especially during rally. It is pitty, but it is also his own fault, so he has to live with it. :(

More information about ORC Čazma Rally including final results: http://www.akdelta.hr/orc-cazma09/results.htm

I must say 16 teams was even less than last year. :( 10 teams at the finish and all score points. As you said, your national championship is unfortunately almost dead. In the sprint there were only 5 teams, than they can better cancel this I think...

I have positive words about the results and the archives that AK Delta made. That is much better than for the most national championships.

Man, unfortunately, You don't know the real situation.. HAKS (our FIA organisation) is totally bad to the drivers.. Except recesion in economy that is the MAIN reason why nobody is driving. They (HAKS) don't have any plans for future and don't work on TV promotions.. Drivers are very pissed on them.. I'm member of AK Delta and I can tell You that they don't care about the drivers.. Main men from there think drivers are there 'cos of them and not reverse mode.. I hope they will go in one year.. But for organisation of Croatia Rally they are BIG proffesionals and that's only GOOD THING..

Wim,nice to see you are interested, but this isn'tthe national championship this is an "amateur" rally (although beter organized than the national championship).

What makes me mad the most is that in 2007 we had a standard of 20 N4 cars and 60 alltogether which was very nice and now Rally Novi Vinodolski (supposed to be driven next weekend,1st round of the national championship) is cancelled because of 9 entries alltogether

By the way, there's Janika in the 207 S2000 TRT also ;)
Janika will hire the 207 from Grifone, not TRT.

I knew it counts 'only' for the Open Rally Challenge. ;) Hopefully there will be not more cancelled events and hopefully in the future better entry lists in Croatia. It is nice that you and Barries keep us informed about rallies in Croatia.

I know TV and press is very important for rally. I give you an example:
In 2004, 2005 and 2006 we had no TV coverage and almost no press for Belgium Championship and there was in most of the events only 1 or 2 WRC. Since end 2007, begin 2008 we have a review of each rally on Belgian TV very fast after the finish and there were 7 WRC's in TAC Rally one week ago (a record for that rally) and in Rallye de Wallonie next week we have also 7 WRC's.

Last year ORC had an 1 HOUR (!!!!) programme after every rally. It wasn't on national television but still a popular television. It had a very good media coverage and then it seemed the drivers failed (drivers who consider themselves "professionals" so ORC is "below their ranking" ) because the entry list was still very poor.

The collaps of rallying is a combination of drivers guilt (most of the drivers complain all the time about having no sponsors but no one is ready to give something to the sponsors.like some presentations, promo drives...luckily there are still true drivers who drive because they love rallying like our friend Barreis :D ) ,but mostly because of the very bad HAKS organization.

Ivan Čibej and Šiniša Crnojević (with Šebalj the fastest drivers) made a very i good presentation in HAKS on how to get out of the crisis but I am afraid that the "big heads" in HAKS did not listen to it very much...
