It's pretty amazing how passionate the players get and the fact that no prize $$$$ is involved.

The one that does make a $$$ killing is the PGA for sure.

A lot of prestige goes with winning the Ryder Cup and with prestige comes sponsorship so money isn't far away. Tiger seemed to hit a fantastic vein of form today, up to the 15th (where he won his match) he was 9 under for the round :eek: and had a run of 7 under over 9 holes. Nice that it went to the last game for a bit of a suspense too.

Don't the players get paid? Not prize money but participation.

Phil showed a lot of class at the press room when some idiot reporter continued to ask Hunter Mahan what he felt when it was obvious that the man was really struggling emotionally. He was literally crying when Phil pulled the Mike away from Hunter and pretty much told the guy that he had asked enough.

Spoken as someone clearly who has been never to a game. You can bleed and play hockey, or drink beer and play golf. Hockey players play golf when they are healing in the summer.....

Golf: A bunch of people with clubs hitting a hunk of round rubber all over a cow pasture trying to put it in a gopher hole. :D
