Channel 10 has announced it's third channel. Along with Seven's 7mate and Nine's GEM, Channel 10's third channel will be called imaginatively... Eleven.

The problem is that Channel 10 currently hosts Formula One broadcasts live on ONE Digital and ONE HD. When Eleven is launched, this will create a bandwidth issue for the network, and so ONE Digital will be dropped entirely to make room for Eleven, meaning that you either need an HD television (which I don't have), or have or have to watch delayed Formula One broadcasts again.

I only just got used to seeing races live again. Channel 10 on their 10 network haven't shown a single race live for years, and now they're doing it to us again.
I guess I'll have to get an HD telly if I want to see F1 live again, even though my perfectly good Digital SD television works fine.

I got myself a 42" Toshiba TV for free. It was worth around 430 € or so, but as Spain won the World Cup, they sent me a cheque for the price of my TV.

You don't need a HD television, only a set top box. $80 at JB Hifi.

Yeah was pretty assey of me!

But what I was getting at is that we have had One Digital now for a couple years now. Ten need to make bandwidth for new channels. The analogue network has started shutting down around Australia and cities will continue to switch off the analogue network as each month passes.

You can work your way into a new TV pretty cheap. I don't see that Ten should need to continue hand-holding with people because they're not at least a little up to date.
