With all the talk of lowering the costs of the IndyCar series, I was wondering if anyone had an informed clue about how much it costs to field a competative, one car Indy Lights team? I want to know how Indy Lights ranks in the peeking order of $$$ in racing (for example, if you ran a team in IndyLights would it be the same $$$ as running a DP in Grand-Am?)
the ICS #'s tend to be about $4 mil, per car, to run a competative team. So how 'bout FIL?

Do you want the best chance to win? If so, I;m thinking you're probably looking at paying someone like Schmidt or AA somewhere in the $750k to $1,000k. At that price, you'll get to keep the prize money, which for a champion could be as much as $350k, for the next 4 maybe $200k to $250k.
I'm guessing some of the other teams might take less based on their reputation - for instance, Team Moore's price is probably going up next year - but I'm guessing pretty much anyone wants at least $5 or 600k.
Any other thoughts out there?
