It has been over 25 C daytime temperatures for weeks here. Now it's gone over 32 C. They say it hasn't been this hot since the 1930s.

Yesterday was by far the most pleasant day to be in the family cottage since June, +15C and quite a bit of wind from north. The first time I wore pants or a jacket in four weeks. :D
The next week seems to be again with the braing melting 30C's. and me without an AC in my car. :(

Yesterday was by far the most pleasant day to be in the family cottage since June, +15C and quite a bit of wind from north. The first time I wore pants or a jacket in four weeks. :D
The next week seems to be again with the braing melting 30C's. and me without an AC in my car. :(
I hope it stays like that for the whole rally, and no I don't need the AC :p :

I must be a strange one since I don't mind the heat at all. I love it, I wish it was this hot all year...

Try that with the humidity we get here in North America. Then you may not like it.
Today was the first day in about 3 weeks where we didn't have temps sitting in the 40's with the humidex. Actual air temp might be 29 to 33 but with 80 to 90% humidity, you feel like it is 44 and the pollution builds because there is no wind (and where I live is the end of a metro area of 6 million people)....

Hopefully will stay warm and dry for the rally too.... I don't mind heat, it is strong sunshine I am allergic to, don't get much of it here in my office :(

This might seem like a stupid question, but what kind of shoes do you wear Rani? When it gets hot my feet start to sweat alot and that makes the rest of my body sweat too. The only thing that works is wearing flip flops, but you can't really wear those to work :\

I usually wear sandals with velcro straps, this model in particular: http://sourceoutdoor.com/mens-sport-sandals/33-classic.html
In this kind of temperature you still sweat heavily when not in an air conditioned room, but not as much as you would near the coast because the air here is very dry.
Hopefully will stay warm and dry for the rally too.... I don't mind heat, it is strong sunshine I am allergic to, don't get much of it here in my office :(

A new record for Finland was measured today, 34.8 C. They say there have been 40 days this summer in Finland when the temperature has been at least 25C, which I think is also a new record.

It's official: today it's the warmest day of the year. 38 C degrees in the shadow but nearly 50 C at asphalt level. The thermic comfort index is also high ( over 80 ) which means unbearable level of humidity. To be honest when I arrived at work I felt like a squeezed mop. I walk down the street and sweat is running down my body. What an embarasment....
Going at the seaside is not a solution The sand ihas about 70 degrees , sea water is 30 degrees and sometimes dead fish and algaes in putrefaction float near the shore.
They say that it will be like this until 23 august.

Environment Canada has recently announced that this will likely be the hottest summer in Canadian history. Indeed, eastern Canada continues to bake in record 30 deg. C+ temps.
Alberta, however, has seen a miserable summer. I don't think we've had a single day of +30 deg. temps. The thermometer dropped to 2 deg. C last night and I had to scrape the ice off the windshield this morning :mark:

The temperature dropped to 0 deg. C last night. Woke up this morning to confirm my fears that the persistent rain that we've been having for the last few days had turned to s*** :s . It's so depressing that I have difficulty in even mentioning the word. We didn't get much accumulation; just enough to cover the vehicle with a light dusting. Even in this part of the world, Sept. 17 is quite early in the year to have s***. And, I'll be darned if I swap to s*** tires thie early in the season :mark: .

Hope the climactic conditions in your neck of the world are more favourable.

The entire year in Minn. has been either abnormally warm, or abnormally cold.
Actually, kind of reminds me of normal weather in Minn. when I was a teenager.

We had the warmest summer on record in Ontario but the last few weeks have been below normal and the last couple of days about 10C below normal.
No frost or that dreaded white stuff yet though.

Actually, kind of reminds me of normal weather in Minn. when I was a teenager.
Same here in Southern Finland. First very cold winter and then very hot summer. I guess the yearly average have to be restored.

We had a very mild winter for here. Strangely enough the local ski hills had a long season. Snowmobilers got a very short one.
Our forecast has been for an unusually mild fall but so far it has been the opposite.
Long range forecast is for a wicked winter.
Considering they have a hard time getting it right for 24 hours I do not have a lot of faith in any of it.
Open window forecasting is the best. Stick your hand out and see what it is doing.

They say this December has been the coldest since 1978 in many parts of Finland. So the local warming has been canceled.

We have been a bit below normal but a lot of snow. Ski Hills all opened 2 weeks ago and most snowmobile trails open. Ice is variable and dangerous. Main part of Georgian Bay wide open and there is an ice breaker in Midland Bay today getting grain ships in.
However we were at 3c today, supposed to be 7 tomorrow and 10 on Sat. That would be a record. Ski resorts have enough snow but trails may have to close.
By Sun the high will be-4 and snow. Same for rest of the week.
