View Full Version : For Ladies That Launch

SCR
2nd July 2010, 18:40
Earlier this year a special photo shoot was arranged at Silverstone Circuit to highlight women in motor sport. Unfortunately for most of us who juggle jobs, partners, kids, homes & racing the timing was a little difficult!

Here at Shakespeare County Raceway (Long Marston Airfield), a quarter mile drag strip near Stratford-Upon-Avon Catalog (https://www.avoncatalog.net) we would like to extend this idea and really celebrate the massive number of women who play a big part in the success of professional and amateur motor sport in the UK

So if you race a car or bike on the drag strip, circuits, rally stages, trials etc, marshal at your local track, crew or support your race team in anyway we would like to see you at Shakespeare County Raceway on July 24th & 25th where we will be hosting our first of many “For Ladies that Launch” weekends – a true celebration of the part we girls play in motor sport.

The raceway will be running a Run What Ya Brung Public Track Day weekend which is open to all (yes him as well) to come along and compete against the clock in open time trial practice sessions giving you a unique opportunity by grabbing some interactive viewing from the hot seat of your race or street legal road car or from the saddle of a contemporary sports bike in the safe confines of a professionally operated drag strip.

On the Saturday evening at 6pm (weather permitting) we aim to have a photo shoot for all the ladies and, where appropriate, their vehicles followed by live music and dancing till late in the clubhouse.

On the Sunday we propose to hold “The Ladies that Launch Shootout” for cars and bikes – ladies only may enter – so borrow his car/bike and show him how it’s done if you don’t have your own.

We can organise a master class in ‘Bracket ET Dial-In Racing’ before the start of the day for those who don’t know how the competition works. The day will also consist of some top class drag racing from the Supercharged Outlaws dragsters and funny cars, and the Pro Street Drag Series for Japanese and European imports.

Shakespeare County Raceway offers free camping, showers and toilet facilities and children under 16 get in for free too. Further details can be found at www.shakespearecountyraceway.co.uk (http://www.shakespearecountyraceway.co.uk/%20/%20http:/www.shakespearecountyraceway.co.uk/CTRL%20+%20Click%20to%20follow%20link) or our Facebook Page (Shakespeare County Raceway). So girls if you are a part of this great institute of motor sport in the UK and you want to celebrate the fact come and race, relax or simply let you hair down at Shakespeare County Raceway this July. See you at the strip
