With Heikki Kovalainen the man in form and (to most outsiders) seen at the moment as the team's number 1 driver you would think he would be a bit cocky and demand the latest packages put on his car first.
But not where Heikki's concerned, he's given up the opportunity to be the first man to race the team's newest chassis at Valencia in order to help his team-mate. That is after at first, Trulli turned down the chance in fear that it would be seen as the team favouring him over Heikki.

It says a lot that seeing 2 drivers trying to help each other in order to help the team as a whole, Red Bull take note.

The same is being shown in the World Cup right now. Individual talent means nothing if you can't work as a T E A M! Good to see they get along so well and I wish both drivers and Lotus as a whole the best of luck! Do the name proud boys!

well, both spent years as number two drivers-heikki at renault then mclaren, jarno in prost, jordan and renault (arguably).
and now it turns out this situation can work, both used to supporting their team mate, so as a team unit they seem to really compliment each other.
good stuff.

Aww, how lovely. :D :)
By the way, what do you think are the chances of Lotus beating Williams, Sauber and/or Toro Rosso in 2011? :p :

It's a lot easier to collaborate when you're fighting for 17th place than when the World Driving Championship is at stake! :D

I'd say they have a chance of getting Sauber with their Silverstone update.

Great to see Trulli and Kovy being so gracious and generous to each other, which is brilliant. However it will be interesting to see if this helps Trulli, because since the first couple of races he's seemed to really struggle, in both qualifying and the race. He usually is able to pull a good quali lap out in a bad car even if he then goes on to struggle in the race.
The funny thing is, that no matter how slow Williams seem in practice and even quali, usually they are decent in the races - same with STR and Sauber for that matter.
Buemi was awesome in Canada, and Alguersuari has also been very quick in a couple of races.
de la Rosa can't buy a finish let alone any points, but he's excellent so he'll keep going.
