Since there's no general motorsports section covering the things not listed in the forum, can't be owt wrong in plonking other bits of news that aren't subjects in here.

The white car is Phil Taylor from Queensland (AU Falcon) against Graeme Simms (Toyota Supra Chev). Taylor gets it all wrong all collects them both, but somehow the Supra stays straight and Taylor walks away from his horror accident.

From the Perth Motorplex on Sunday night.

OK, anyone else, got other motorsport bits that don't fit in the subforums?

The new EDC (European Drift Championship) is going to be absolutely :s mokin:. Some cars include a Supra engined Nissan Silvia from British drift champion Phil Morrison and an old Toyota Soarer with a newer Soarer engine that can be heard two miles away  .

School Bus Figure-8 track racing.

Nothing brings a tear to the eye like 100 school kids signing "The wheels on the bus go round and round" as 10 School Buses thunder round an oval track reconfigured to a figure 8.

Great. At last I have a place to discuss Powerboat racing. Thanks, Monaro. :)

Amazing how the drifting craze spread about. WA has it's own series, which I haven't attended any as yet. But watch Formula D on A1 channel on Foxtel and the US guys put on a great show, if at some horrendously poor looking venues, as most look like car parks... :(

Go the GTO... :D

After hearing that, I don't think it's all that hot a craze anymore. :p :

How healthy is the SCCA these days? Anyone hear of some 2007 exploits on that yet?

It's only really starting to hot up in the British Isles :D and is the UK's fastest growing motorsport. I have been into drifting since mid 2005 :D
BTW, there's a drift Monaro in Australia now so you can support that

I know. In England we get everything from Vauxhall Carltons (http://doristars.com/v-web/gallery/bovp/DSC_0061) to old Jags (http://doristars.com/v-web/gallery/duknov/DSC_0060) to Volvo 340/360s (http://doristars.com/v-web/gallery/bovp/DSC_0072) to Highly modified Skylines (This one is a R32 with R34 front and lots of tuning) (http://doristars.com/v-web/gallery/ukdc/RD1_0082_copy). All in all great stuff :D
