Formula 1 fans are keen to see the sport broadcast in High Definition as soon as possible, as well as see grand prix racing expand its presence on the Internet.
They are two of the key messages that have come out from the results of the recent fan survey conducted by the Formula One Teams' Association (FOTA) in association with F1 Racing and LG Electronics.

The next challenge is getting the FIA/FOM to act on this. Although I do recall they were planning on getting HD broadcasts as of 2011.

The survey does have a large "No s--- Sherlock" factor, doesn't it? As you say, will all concerned listen and act?

WTCC is native HD on Eurosport, and the pictures are stunning. I think they've got HD coverage of Le Mans too. The majority of World Cups games that BBC and ITV will show over the next few weeks will also be HD. Snooker, golf, cricket, the Olympics, the Grand National.... but not (supposedly) the most advanced technological sport on earth.
Sky are even starting 3D football if you don't mind looking like a dick with Joe 90 glasses, while Bernie seems to think we should be grateful for widescreen, never mind HD.

3D HD will not work as the images are side by side

That trial used an old-fashioned "bodge". The 3D on Sky requires a dedicated display and is native HD by default.

I wonder if so called fans know that technology and overtaking don't necessarily go together.

According to Mike Gascoyne, Trulli's got a 3D camera on his car! I wonder if we'll get to see any footage on the end-of-season DVD...
