"Owen Hanging Out His Arse"

This video has been removed by the user.

That sounded like an interesting video...

 It was just something I made ages back when my brother (that'd be Owen) had a really bad hangover. It sucked, hence why I removed it :)

That looks quite fun :)

Did you build your Locost? My brother had a Westfield, but it lost a fight with a lamp post.

Nah, we don't really have the space and were more after something which was ready to use. Originally it was built to enter the 750MC Locost championship and was raced by 2 blokes from fairly high up the order. It's in slightly less good nick now but that's part of the attraction.

To try and keep our spending to a minimum we've decided to keep it as close to Locost championship regs as possible (and to maintain sell on value) so the only thing we've done is fit twin Weber 40s and still run on the treaded control tyres. Because of this it's pretty much just good fun between me and my Dad rather than beating much other stuff, although it does give me a big grin when I manage to put it ahead of something a bit more powerful and expensive :D

Also it's not road registered, my old man was keen to buy something that couldn't even pick a fight with a lampost :D

I can't believe that you would post such a disgraceful display of car handling. You should be ashammed of yourself :p

:p : Can't have been too bad, these are the times of some of the cars around me.

83.76 Nissan Pulsar GTI-R 2000CC
83.78 Audi Quattro 2144CC
83.83 Audi A3 1781CC (with a big ol' turbo)
83.94 Ford Escort Cosworth 1998CC
83.95 Renault 1998CC
84.32 Locost 1300CC (that'd be me)
84.84 Ford Escort RS2000 1998CC
84.93 Ford Escort Cosworth 1998CC
85.34 Locost 1300CC (that'd be the old man)
86.34 Leyland Mini 1380CC
86.79 Mitsubishi Evo iv 2000CC
86.79 Austin Mini 1380CC
86.99 Fisher Fury 1998CC
87.35 VW Corrado CC
88.37 Caterham 2000CC (running on slicks, unlike us)

Felt like the tyres were buggered on that last run but more likely that I was just pushing them further than they wanted to go. Still I'm quite chuffed to beat Cossies, Evos and a couple of 2 litre kit cars in our little 1300 pushing out less than 85bhp (at the fly!)

I think out of all the cars that beat you, I would be ashamed of having a Pulsar beat ya....but i suspect the Pulsar's in the UK were a little more manly....

I don't know how different it is (think most of ours are JDM imports anyway) but 2litre turbo packing plenty of punch, little pocket rockets

here's one trouncing a Skyline http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXUfBWTBg68&feature=related

It's the 2l Renault Clio cup car that annoys me but he was throwing the thing around all day

It's admirable to see someone doing that well in a GTi-R but you would have thought people would have just started off with something decent in the first place. A Subaru or an Evo is just a much better starting point.

Both those would struggle a bit at a kart track though, it's one of the few places that power isn't much help. There was a pretty much mint 22B there as well, went very quickly but mainly because the driver is extremely fast (ironically his last car was a Pulsar, but he totalled it last year).

That Caterham driver on slicks must me a bit pants

I don't see why an Impreza or Evo would be slow though. It's not like the GTi-R is any narrower, light or significantly short in terms of wheelbase. Being a group a homogation car they'll all be equalish

That's the conclusion that we came to as well  There was another 2l Westfield further down too, not quite sure how he wasn't at least quicker than my Dad ;)

Daniel - Evos seem to struggle with the handling for some reason, that Evo 4 was always cocking a wheel and understeering heavily, the Pulsar seems much more planted. It was the same when we did that track last year, one of the few times that I can get in amongst the Evos etc.

To be fair on that sort of track slicks might not be the best choice.
