I guess it makes sense since they already make tyres for F1 cars, but actual F1 competition will be quite a step up.

Excellent news! I spent a lot of my racing on Avons so it would be nice to see them in F1.

well, sticking to the normal rim sizes instead of going 'le mans bling bling' style, a la michelin, is my preffered outcome.

so I'm all for this! and the current motorsport connection and former supply to A1GP will give them a bit of know how, for sure.

Do not know about Avon...but in the USA, Cooper tires or tyres are the worst. My experience was horrible, and after only small amount of use, pulled them off with lots of tread left. The only tire I have done that with (they came almost new with the pickup truck)

Mother in law had the same issues. She bought them, they put them on her car, car did not handle right, no grip, made the steering wheel act like the tires were out of balance when they were not, and lots of tire noise to the point she also dumped them before their time.

The Atlantics ran on Cooper but that is not F1.
