FFS Pickup qualifying 11am. I wish they just had the one long session in the afternoon, it allowed a leisurely start. It's a ballache getting down for 11 :(

ISTR a lot of teams requested two lots of qualifying allowing for any set up changes to be sorted between sessions, just having one hour doesnt give much time to change anything, you'll just have to get up earlier.

Bleeding heck Al, is there any breathing space in this! Methinks that minibus will need a V8 in it! and the gantry needs a screen and some spare bottles.

Ray, if you send the models to the gantry, we'll never get any sense out of them for the rest of the day!
Is that a red flag, or is Chigley's tongue hanging out....

My guess is that, unless they are being particularly mean to Chigley, lunch is spelled
"13:05 - 13:15 American Vehicle Parade laps
13:15 - 13:25 Baby Grandes Demonstration
13:25 - 13:25 Italian car clubs Parade laps
13:35 - 13:45 P4 Ferarri Replica Parade laps"
Still not that long though.

Too True!!!
If you take into cosideration the length of time it takes to get the oval marshals back to the paddock and then out onto the infield 10 mins before the track goes live, I make it about 5 minutes for lunch!

Nah. It'll make it too heavy, just a Subaru lump, big turbo(s) and fat nobblies on the back!

Referring to marshals as fat nobblies won't make you any friends :) ;)
I much prefer a busy day - doing 'The Pom' at Silverstone was much too wierd a day.
Anyway, if you eat the 'SAS way' there's no need for lunch break- simply eat it before we start the days activities.

Is that in between turning the heater/air con up, having to read the second paper of the day, keep getting woken up or stopping the donut conveyor!!!

no aircon-it leaves a puddle, no papers, never asleep and never YET seen a single donut provided from any team member :)

Expect some extra traffic...
http://www.mr2worldrecord.co.uk/
I know we've had parades and stuff before, but looking at some of the MR2 owners club / enthusiasts sites this is going to be big if it all comes together. Over the weekend they are planning on using the exhibition site, and parading, and getting some tracktime late on Saturday. One of the clubs involved has 400+ names listed as attending from all over the country, and there seems to be huge interests on their forums.
Good stuff all round,
Al.

Update on the MR2 parade - approx 420+ names listed, exact numbers unknown but somewhere between 250-350 is probably a reasonable estimate (current record for their makes convoy is 162, so confident of beating it).
They will be assembled in colour order on the exhibition ground behind the Rockingham building, and will convoy at 1230 through the vehicle tunel onto the infield circuit via the race school (going wrong circuit direction) to line up from the med centre round the infield until they can get onto the oval at the end of the Pickups race at 13:00ish. Once the track is cleared they will enter the oval via the bike link, and do two full laps of the oval in convoy for the record, and on the third lap will pull of via the pit lane and exit at garage 36 end to return to the exhibition area.
This is of course plan A that I'm quoting, expect plan F, G or H to have been adopted by the time it happens!

Quite easy, take the lift to race control, chill out in air con comfort, have a chatter and then take the lift back to the oval. Problem where??? ;)

For your own safety, please don't feed the Safety Team through the fence, it can be dangerous and you may get bitten.
