Well most of us know about this one but thought I'd start a thread anyway.
One of the main reasons I enjoy this rally is that they provide spectators with half decent information.

Reckon I'll be looking at attempting 3 stages (pending me checking the map to see where they are) Serridge 1, Speech House and Sallowvallets.

I'm not sure about snow, last year it sucked but a few years before that it was spectacular. The worst thing will be if it rains, can't be doing with that.
Anyway where do people recommend and what car parks should I use? Even though we do this event most years it seems like we just take pot luck and never really learn

We will be going to car park D for stages 2 and 6 as long as theres signs for it. When we went in 08 we got up there and lucked into a car park in between 2 stages on the B4234 and barely had to walk 500 yards to see the action.
Would be more helpful if they put some diagrams of the car parks IMO!

We've got an OS map with each car park marked on it, trouble is that the letters are different now as we've been using it for years

I have 4 clients in the main field and I'm fairly confident I can see all of them 3 times... really looking forward to this - my 5th anniversary of rallying since I moved to the UK!

Well nigh on everythings packed and the cars ready. Luckily I noticed a drip of oil on the drive which turned out to be the oil filter workings its way loose!!
We will be doing stages 2 and 6 as I really cant be assed with chasing around now!

Had an enjoyable (if unexciting) day. Only really watched 2 stages as the stoppage on Speech House buggered up our timing. Got a handful of photos and was trying a new mini DV camera but didn't really get anything of note. I'll sort everything and try to remember to post tomorrow but bit tired at the minute, 6am start and lots of walking has taken it out of me a bit.

Mr Turves, thought you might like to know there were 9 " Forests" out on the Wyedean today.

Yea was a good day out though the long stoppage was a bit of a downer. Read on another forum that it was caused by a crew having a high speed rear impact with a tree and they dont seem to have suffered any serious injuries :)
Will sort out my pics tomorrow as im also fooked!

Yeah it was a bit up the road from us. Some marshalls came trotting by followed by some media looking chaps so we went for a wander to see what had happened. High speed spot with a little dip had caught out an Escort in the historics and he'd gone up and bank and then across the road into a tree. Car looked a right mess at the rear.
Give me a few minutes and I'll try to post a video of the spot.

Quality isn't great because my computer and Youtube have scaled it down. The slight bump close to the camera (the one I was holding rather than the other one) is what unsettled the Escort. From what I can tell he went up a bank on the right of the road before hitting a tree on the left which spun him round into a ditch on the right again. As you can see (and hear) from the Elsmore and Perez clips it was pretty high speed stuff.

Not a great day photography wise, struggled to get anything that I was actually happy with but these are okay, even if the one of Perez most of it is blurred :)

Was a nightmare for light at times yesterday, especially on SS6 with the delay. Heres some of mine..

Tidy pics there Ally, you did much better with the light than I did. Also after my near miss on the R.A.C I was staying a bit further away from the stage than usual.
I must have walked right passed you at Serridge, we were a bit further up the road than that watersplash bit

Very pleased to hear it, although I am sure June is greatly missed.
I hope to be back out there one day, when my lad is a bit older. Maybe I'll inherit my old mans Forest 1 call sign...

The present thinking is that callsigns Forest 1 and 2 will not be used again to reflect the importance of the two original holders in getting this still active group off the ground so many years ago. Although might it be possible that Forest 1 might be coming home ?

Thats a nice gesture.
He has talked about moving back to the UK, but I doubt very much whether he'll be back out in the woods to play...
