2005 WSB ChampionCorsor took pole with a 1m58.402 this weekend. So best guess for the MotoGp pole in two weeks............

MotoGP should be at least 2 seconds faster

More than 2 secs quicker I think. Dani Pedrosa clocked 1:55:471 at the recent test there, so I think for Qualifying for the race, we could expect a low 1:55 or perhaps even a high 1:54. :cheese:

i would say a mid to high 1:54

I also think about 1:55. however taking the fastest times from each championship does not automatically give you the difference in performance.

I honestly believe that World Superbike machines are capable of much better times but they are held back by tyres

Sure they are.. Chili was quit close to MotoGP times in 04 I think, and Fogarty was even faster than 500s once on Assen (ok, that's a time ago! :D )!

It was mentioned on Fox Sports coverage of the opening WSB round last weekend that Bayliss lapped Phillip Island earlier this year on his 999 Superbike quicker than he ever went around there on a MotoGP bike.

Rossi with 1m 55.002 so a gap of 3.4 seconds.

This time tomorrow we will all be glued!!

Thats amazing that souped up road bikes can get so close to the MotoGP bikes. It's gonna be a cracker of a race tomorrow.

Close.

What are the budget differentials ?

At a wild guess I would say

MotoGP - $20m per bike and WSB - $10 m per bike...........

How do the times compare over race distance ?

How do the times compare over race distance ?

2 x 22 lap races vs 1 x 25 (?) lap race so tricky apart from the fact the race is tomorrow.

Way too much for WSBK I think, I would say £3-£4mil for a 2 bike team per season. Ducati maybe double that.

When Barros was asking for better electronics last season one of the bosses at Honda said that the cost of the motoGP electronics are greater than klaffi's season budget
