Deadline is actually 12 noon so a bit more than 24 hr, quite a bit of last minute rushing around I bet!

What are those 6 cars then? From the top of my mind and the one I'd really like to see would be Adam Jones and the GR Asia SEAT Toledo - thought they were going for a Wed/Thurs deadlline according to one thread through?
Are those 6 ones that have talked about entering and as yet not press released e.g. Rick Kerry etc....

Also there is the Griffin/Marsh/Pinkney with the Alfas rumour still to come through.

Is it possible for late entries at a slightly higher cost?

well during the '06 season we had extra drivers appearing at nearly every round that were not present for media day!

there is no financial penalty for a late entry, but the car has to carry a weight penalty for the first 3 races that it competes in starting with 45kg also you can't do the media day

Just because the deadline is tomorrow does not mean everyone will announce tomorrow. There could be entries already paid up that haven't done the official press release for whatever reason. Anyway with 5 weeks until the first race I think there will be some late entries.

All Alan Gow's said is that the entry list will be revealed sometime after Feb 26, not necessarily on media day.

Whats to say some teams haven't paid but have a TBA as a driver too? There is usually a few on the entry list, mainly from WSR and TD tho

It doesn't actually say that, does it.
Late entry ballast does not apply to entries received up to and including April 1st. There is no penalty for registering between tomorrow and the first meeting.

If there's no actual penalty, what is the point of having the submission deadline so early? Why not in mid-March?

between 26th feb and 13th march(media day) TOCA need time to get all the media stuff sorted plus the garage name/car boards and all the other bits and pieces that makes for a good media day,I think it's a case of get the publicity side sorted first(and they can't work on rumours) and the racing can come later
Also having to carry 45kg is a good reason to get the cheque in on time !

It's more a deadline for participation in the media day more than anything isn't it?

I thaught the 45kg ballist was for if you joined after the first race.
But if not it would hurry you up if you wanted to race as that is a big disadvantage just for paying late!
