Weather Channel download/upgrade buggered my laptop

WTF!! My better half updated the Weather Channel program on her laptop and the update buggered up her internet connection - it just would not connect and nothing I tried worked. Then I finally used the search option on her laptop for The Weather Channel, sent every single Weather Channel item to Cyberscrub and erased them, and now the internet connection works again.

What the hell is going on?

Gee! can't somebody tell me what is wrong with the Weather Channel's settings and upgrades? Where's that Daniel when I need him? :(
