View Full Version : Should the FIA ban the C4?

With Loeb now winning five championships in a row (is that right, I may have lost count?). Should the FIA ban the C4?

Now correct me if I’m wrong but if I remember correctly back in 1999 Subaru had some trouble getting the new Impreza to the start line because the FIA said the car would have an “unfair advantage” over the competition. But now with Citroen winning so many drivers titles in a row and this year taking both titles, is there a double standard with the FIA?

As a joke this thread may be good but it's quite sad if it was meant seriously

World Rally Cars are ought te be replaced anyway (with what no one knows), so no need for a ban, let alone it would be a ridiculous move. The C4 and Focus are quite evenly matched btw.

Never heared of that Subaru story, but ultimately the '99 Impreza wasn't that superb. The P2000 was far better than it's predecessor.

Yeah I was feeling a little sarcastic, but facts are facts…

i think they should ban Loeb as well....

All they would have to do to knock Loeb down a notch is ban running stages twice in the same direction. Something that should be done anyway…

I would say give C4 to everybody, with same latest specs and service, instead ... not much different from what WRC is now (from 2 to 1 car is not that huge change, isn't it ?) xD

Are we really discussing this thread???? WOW.

Unless there's definite proof of an unfair advantage I don't see why it should be banned. They made a better car paired with a better driver, that's the only proven facts.

I prefer a C4 winning and a Focus in 2nd, than only Focus on the standings. Is better two cars than one, is more funny and a difrente portrait.

This is a answer at the same level of the question.

Why not give the winner of a rally 50 kgs of "punnishment", second 30kgs and third 15kg? In the middle of the season the C4 would weigh aprox. 1530kgs.. ;) maybe we could see some Seat Cordobas, Skoda's, Subaru...etc. win in the middle of the season? .. lol

Ford team principal Malcolm Wilson asked the Frenchman when he would slow down only for the Citroen driver to answer with a smile: “When I drive a Ford.”Is this when one should say 'owned'?

Not sure if the C4 is so much better than the Xsara on Tarmac. Would be cool to see if Loeb was quicker in a Xsara with a C4 spec engine under the bonnet !

It's better... we can safely say that comparing Spain 2006 (without technical problems Bosse would have won there) to 2007.
