Last month (possibly) I went to see Fake Blood in Bath (not to be confused with Fake Blood in the bath...that would be weird). I may have been a touch inebriated so can't remember too much of the night but I do remember walking away and talking about how awesome it was.

Tomorrow I'm off to Bath again where Annie Mac is DJ'ing. Seen her once before but again I have a hazy recollection of the whole thing :D

Last night I saw Isis, aboslutely fantastic gig despite the tech problems for the keyboards during Hands of the Host.

Mind you, the opener was Finale, a bloke standing behind a laptop for 40 minutes continuously "playing" an ambient noise piece, the most boring experience I've ever had.

My next gig will either be The Watch this Sunday or Riverside on Monday 16th Nov.

AC/DC in Washington DC on the 16th.

We saw them last year and they added US tour dates so we went back to the end of the tour.

Don't laugh, but .....

.... The National Ukele Orchestra :p :

They were good, and funny, and I highly recommend them for a fun night out. Before that, another orchestra and Mark Thomas the comedian (not on the same bill).

The last concert I went to was Curtis Stigers at the Buxton Opera House. The name might not be familiar with most people, but some might remember him from the BBC show Just the Two of Us. Others may recall his name from many years ago when he had a couple of chart hits with his songs I Wonder Why and You're All That Matters To Me.

Following his pop days Curtis became a jazz singer and saxophonist, and it was this style of music he was playing on his recent UK tour. He's just released a new album which contains several covers of well-known songs like John Lennon's Jealous Guy and Cold by Annie Lennox, as well as some original songs composed by Curtis himself.

At the Buxton cencert, Curtis was playing with his band which includes a couple of members from the great jazz instrumental group Tri-Fi. As well as performing the above mentioned songs there were further covers of hits by Bob Dylan, Elvis Presley and The Police. The whole band is exceptionally talented and they were having a blast on stage, especially at the end when they played Swinging Down at 10th and Main and everyone got to do their own solo, including the coolest member of the band, the bass player.

As well as being an accomplished musician and vocalist, Curtis is very open and talkative with his audiences. He talks sincerely about what he's been doing. On that particular day, he and the band had driven from the previous gig in Llandudno. He described the awesome, winding road that they'd taken (Cat and Fiddle) to get to Buxton, and joked several times about playing at altitude (Buxton is the highest market town in England).

After two hour-long sets, Curtis demonstrated his appreciation to his fans by spending an hour signing autographs, despite having a 3 hour ride to London on the tour bus ahead of him. My sister, who I attended the concert with, was very happy to get her copy of the new CD signed and have her photo taken with Curtis.

The next concert is A-ha at the MEN on Tuesday.

Everyone laughed when I said I like Busted.
Ukeles you lot can cope with ... but not Busted.
Actually, I see your point :p :

As I said in OP, Annie Mac (supported by Young Fathers) in Bath. Young Fathers were rubbish, I can't remember much of Annie Mac and the highlight of the night was drinking a gallon of tea.

I saw Joe Satriani last May but it was for a present for my boyfriend's birthday and I wasn't really into it to be honest. I can't believe the last music gig I went to and loved was over 2 years ago. We went to see Tool and they were just amazing. Since then I've only seen friend's bands gigs or been to comedy gigs (though Bill Bailey and Tim Minchin are both musical).

I've been pretty uninspired music wise the last couple of years. :(

I never heard of Tim Minchin till he was on the Chris Moyles show a few weeks ago. I was amazed.

Two summers ago, saw Bachman-Cummings ( former founders of the Guess Who who cannot perform under the name due to a copyright dispute ) at the Molson Amptheatre at Ontario Place in Toronto on a beautiful night. Other than that, a friends country rock band playing a local pub.

OH and if comedy counts, I saw Bob Newhart last May at Casino Rama up in Easy Drifter's part of the world.....
