Well, there went any interest I had in this Chase.

Well, there went any interest I had in this Chase.

Well 2nd through 6th are only 105 points apart. If #48 has problems at either Martinsville or Talladega things get real exciting again.

True, though JPM was mainly the reason I was excited about this Chase. No one from Hendrick winning interests me in the least, well maybe Martin a little. But with JJ 90 points up with 5 to go, I just can't imagine anything short of #4 happening, unless he gets caught up in someone else's wreck (which I would not want to happen).

I'm glad I watched baseball last night.

LOL, I switched back and forth between the yankees and the race.

It is still a race as far as I am concerned. Gordon and Tony can still win it, more so than mark IMO. There are still 5 races to go. JPM is out, so we will lose the F1 fans. :)

You know, when is Talledega, next week? Short of a crazy wreck happening there, I just can't see a circumstance where Tony or Jeff could win this thing. JJ and Mark are too consistent, and their equipment is too good on the remaining tracks. I'd put decent money on the current points order being the final points order.

Martinsville is next week and Talladega the week after.

Dega and M'ville are always wild cards since crazy stuff usually happens at both races. I'm at a point where I almost don't care who wins the dang Cup. If JJ wins another one it could push me over the edge to a point where I really don't care. I'm sick to death of clone drivers driving clone cars in mind-bogglingly boring races with next to no real competition to win a manufactured "championship".

I'm with you on the repetitive nature of NASCAR in the last 2-3 years, that being said each race has its moments so I'll watch here and there on each one. I know I'm probably in the minority on this, but I think most races are just too long. Charlotte could have been 50 laps shorter, easily. I watched it till the bitter end around 11pm last night. Just too late, and too dang long, endless yellows. I know Hendrick has their stuff together, and especially the 48 team, I can respect what they're accomplishing in a field with not many lightweights. But respect does not mean entertained.

February 2001 was when 75% of Nascar died.

November 2003 was when Nascar officially died when Bill France Jr. and Winston both left. after that, I don't count championships anymore.

Winning a Winston Cup was a deserving champion, winning a Nextel Cup is who can be good for 10 races on the same 10 tracks everyyear, not to mention 5 cookie cutters to kill any championship battle. let alone Brian France taking the helm and making a mockery of alot of things, killing tradition for lame-duck marketing in california.

The "bitter end" really says a lot. I want to enjoy the races but there's nothing to enjoy. It used to be fun to watch at least three or four cars slugging it out to the checkers. There's just about none of that anymore. Half of the field was at least a lap down at the end of the race and that's not racing as far as I'm concerned.

I stuck with the baseball game until it was over at 1:17 AM because the score was tied into the 13th inning and the game could've gone either way. I'm a Yankees fan so I was thrilled that it went the way it did but I had a reason to stick with it. It's called competition and excitement.
