I thought you Americans like everything big. Your map is so small I can't even read it. Here's a bigger one, and in color:

The funny thing is that the person who made that map is actually making fun of Americans and their ignorance. Seems Fousto fell into the trap? :)

I wonder what Arizona's economy would be like without the 100,000+ snowbirds visiting for 5 months each year (from uninhabited nether-world)

Dont be too proud of this Fousto. This is the kind of thing that gives your country a bad name and makes it the laughing stock of the world

I once met an elderly couple in Cambridege, MA who had a shop selling goods from the developing countries. They asked if there were any wars in Finland. In Scranton, PA I met an elderly man who told me how he as a kid followed news from the Winter War of 1939-1940 between Finland and the Soviet Union. They all seemed like nice well-meaning people whose news just don't cover Finland that much. A lot has happened in Finland since 1940.

Welcome to Fousto's world of unfunny and cliched jokes.
The map which he originally presented is an "update" of this which did the rounds in 2005:
http://www.geocities.com/dspichtinger/fun/america.gif
This itself was a dumbed down copy of this also unfunny map which appeared in 2002:
http://strangemaps.files.wordpress.com/2006/12/298202156_73e54012fa_b.jpg
But as always, even this was a dumbed down copy of something which originally appeared in the New Yorker on 12th August of 1999:
http://i.current.com/images/asset/889/002/32/mOn1Rf.jpg
But to prove that all of these jokes are poor copies of a very old joke indeed, here is as far as I can tell, the original, which first saw the light of day in 1983:

I now ask you, are old jokes the best? Or is something which had it's origins more than 25 years ago and is still unfunny, past it's prime?

Hey don't knock fousto's chain emails that he posts! It's like when old people go on the internet for the first time and call you over shouting, "Look! Loads of hamsters dancing in a line! Isn't the internet amazing?!". Bless.

We the Finns are pretty much like my cat. We tend to have huge ego conserning the fact how big of an influence we make to the enviroment. The truth of course is nada, which we in some sick way refuse to accept.
I wouldn't imagine Finland covering any news internationally. :)

It's like Michel Palin sang about Finland: "You're so sadly neglected
And often ignored,"
Monty Python: Finland
Finland, Finland, Finland,
The country where I want to be,
Pony trekking or camping,
Or just watching TV.
Finland, Finland, Finland.
It's the country for me.
You're so near to Russia,
So far from Japan,
Quite a long way from Cairo,
Lots of miles from Vietnam.
Finland, Finland, Finland,
The country where I want to be,
Eating breakfast or dinner,
Or snack lunch in the hall.
Finland, Finland, Finland.
Finland has it all.
You're so sadly neglected
And often ignored,
A poor second to Belgium,
When going abroad.
Finland, Finland, Finland,
The country where I quite want to be,
Your mountains so lofty,
Your treetops so tall.
Finland, Finland, Finland.
Finland has it all.
Finland, Finland, Finland,
The country where I quite want to be,
Your mountains so lofty,
Your treetops so tall.
Finland, Finland, Finland.
Finland has it all.
Finland has it all.

Norway is the best. The scenery in northern Norway is absolutely beautiful. I have been there two times and waiting for a third. I love it there.
