We all know diddley squat regarding the future.
We can be sure it will not be s2000, Oliver Quesnel said it, even if the wrc 2011 rules are s2000, whick is pretty unlikely, they will use the peugeout 207 s2000!!!!

They said on Eurosport in the pre rally AUS, that MINI are one of the new manufacturers that have contacted WRC regarding a participation in 2011. Then we might have two manufacturers with cars looking quite similar.

LCD: No, the model is not real. The S2000 bodykit, wing etc. is just imagination of some fan made in photoshop. He put it on some French or Belgian forum maybe half a year a go...

It is already half a year old photoshop. Here You can see exactly same image on French forum from March 2009: http://www.forum-auto.com/sport-auto/theme38/sujet345684-1330.htm
I'm almost sure that DS3 WRC will be revealed as a concept car on Geneve autoshow next year.

On a Portugese site I found this:
Citroen canceled project Citroen Super 2000
Olivier Quesnel has confirmed today that cleared the Citroen Super 2000 project last week: "We were told that the FIA dropped the requirement of the next WRC are based on the design of the Super 2000. Our experience with Peugeot 207 S2000 project tells us we would have problems if we tried to sell based on a Citroen car Super 2000. "
"Of the 75 Peugeot 207 S2000 that build, sell remaining 30, Ford will sell the Fiesta S2000 and taking into account that future Super 2000 should have 1.6-liter turbo engine, means that two liters aspirated only lived a year."
"Future plans will depend on the recommendations of the Rally on the engines of the new WRC. Until now it was known that the Super 2000 could only be approved from January 1, 2011 with a 1.6 Turbo engine. What was not said was whether the engine would be based on a production engine, or could be built for a special competition. "
"Until that is resolved we stopped the work. However, I can confirm that it is based on a production, it will be the Peugeot 207 RC Rallye Group R3T. I can also confirm that our next WRC will be based on the model DS3.

DS3 is as ugly now as it was in 1970's. The only pretty Citroen is the new C5 and that only in station wagon config.

You can't compare a DS3 and a DS Jonkka...that has nothing to do(even by far)
And "being ugly" but with a very big success in sales...that's OK :D

Well, the car is almost ready so soon we’ll know how it looks. http://www.wrc.com/jsp/index.jsp?lnk=101&id=5885&desc=Citroen%27s%20future%20WRC%20challenger%20%27 90%20per%20cent%27%20complete
And on the day after tomorrow (9th of September) meeting it’s decided what the next generation WRC engine will be.

So how is Loeb going to be beating a whole class of New WRC regulated cars that probably will be S2000? What is the Fiesta by the way that Ford will be introducing? Will it be competing against the 1.6T DS3? Will Loeb be driving the S2000 207?
Very confusing stuff, but then again perhaps the IRC will be S2000 with Group N and WRC will be 1.6T with PWRC and JWRC... now wait a minute... what will the difference between JWRC be to 1.6T WRC?!?!?

Not only has 1.6T WRC turbo but it is also 4WD compared to JWRC which is 2WD so there will be a lot differences in the prize as well.

Will the 1.6T be faster than the S2000 cars we have currently as some members has implied earlier?
Mirek
8th September 2009, 12:54
For sure. It's not hard to have more powerfull 1.6T than even recent WRC. It's just a question of rulles.

Quesnel said in this article
http://www.wrc.com/jsp/index.jsp?lnk...7%20com plete (http://www.wrc.com/jsp/index.jsp?lnk=101&id=5885&desc=Citroen%27s%20future%20WRC%20challenger%20%27 90%20per%20cent%27%20complete)
Quesnel told wrc.com that development of the new DS3 had started at the beginning of the year, initially as a two litre car
Quesnel said he was not expecting to homologate the DS3 as a two litre car to rival offerings from Ford and Abarth because in the Peugeot 207 the PSA group already had a model available for customers.I don't understand : he started to develop a 2.0 engine and then realized that it was not worth it ??!
And what if the 1.6T rules will only apply (if they will...) in 2012 or 2013 ? With which engine will the DS3 be powered ?
alleskids found also :
I can confirm that it is based on a production, it will be the Peugeot 207 RC Rallye Group R3TIs it more likely to see in 2011 a DS3 equiped with the 2.0 207 S2000 engine ? (and closer to now, at the 2010 Montecarlo  ?)
