Some talk of Newman-Wachs leaving for FIL/Indycar. Muniz injured his hand, out for season.

FIL's are on a one day schedule tomorrow.

Go Tonis and Mirl! They probably don't stand much of a chance, but they are about the nicest guys I know in racing. Especially Tonis. He's great!

A sub class made up of the 014s and 1600 Toyota engines, to fill the field. No one made the trip to Mosport.

Hoop98, you say there are rumors of Newman Wachs leaving Atlantics for FIL/Indycar, do you mean they are considering stepping up to the ICS or simply switching to FIL? Maybe I'm reading to much into it, but had you simply written FIL then it wouldn't had grabbed my attention.
Obviously, looking at the results from races and the practice session from Mosport, you would see Newman Wachs is basically in the same position Newman Haas was near the end of CCWS, on their own step above the rest of the field.
A move to FIL would bring them to a more competitive field, and would also put them into the series that, unfortunately, looks like it will be the only series alive in 2010.

The rumor was not totally clear, I would think FIL makes more sense, but
not my call obviously...

I'm sorry Hoop sometimes I can be dense. Where do the C2s fit in again? Are they part of Atlantics and just not racing this weekend? Or are they racing somewhere other than Mosport, or...?

They were added to Atlantic's to fill the field, they just didn't attend, not racing elsewhere as far as I know.

At one point early in the Lights race you had Cunningham, Davidson and Potekhen going 3 wide for the lead, then out of nowhere Herrington got a great run down the backstretch and made it 4 WIDE through turn 3 and part of 4.
Simply incredible.

Here is a look at the Sector Speeds of an Atlantic and a F1 at Long Beach. Depending on the track and conditions either one could be faster so that is not the point. Just comparing how 2 different cars arrive at similar speeds in quite different fashion.
Note: This is for info only and does not prove anything.
On a flat 800 foot diameter circle an Atlantic would kill a FIL, and at Chicagoland a FIL would be 20 MPH faster than an Atlantic. In between it could be either one, but here is an example of "One" such comparison.

Go Jonathon!!!!!! I really hopes he gets the USF1 seat. He's been posting good results everywhere he goes, including a USA maiden victory in A1GP.

They were impressive at Mosport. Only four or five seconds slower than the ALMS cars. Simona had a big one in 2 apparently flipping twice. I was at 2 but some 'idiot' just stepped in front of me as it happened so I only saw her in the tire wall halfway to 3.
Small field but the lap speeds kept it interesting.

Something interesting is that the GT2 was doing 155 in the trap and 128 in the next segment with the curve, the Atlantic was 148 and 149.
The GT 2 was hard on the brakes and the Atlantic had enough grip to go~ flat.
Makes for an interesting discussion amongst the braking and accelerating fans and the momentum racing fans...
