That was from a documentary called 'The Team' shown on BBC which followed McLaren during 1993 season so its all logical before bad blood.

Senna was off to Williams and Ron a successor.

Interesting comment from Ron regarding Schumi and his skill on the limit. There's another clip on youtube which showed Mika Hakkinen being quick but erratic (pushed too hard in Portugal GP and spun off), not fully confidant (poor team communication with team in testing) and impression being that Mika looked a bit out of depth in F1 world.

On record Ron has admitted he tried to sign Schumi for 1996 but the final hurdle was contractual issues. James Allen commented one such issue was driver's image rights (eg. Dekra caps) with McLaren collectively retaining its own image rights.

I read an article in the late 90's (can't remember which publication), that suggested that during the 1995 season, Michael Schumacher found a Tag Heuer watch in the cockpit of his Benetton during a test session. Some said it was placed there by Ron Dennis as a hint to come and talk about contracts. Quite a cool hint IMO. :)

Funny how things were done back then....

Kimi was spotted with a Ferrari Enzo in Switzerland in 2006 before the Italian GP
