Why is it every time I click on a driver in the split times the rest changes?

So you can compare the other drivers.

malscar
13th February 2010, 10:20
How are split times calculated?

Same as the splits you see on the F1. Total time from the start of a stage to a particular point, normally about every 5 km (also usually have a radio point at the same spot). Then just the difference between the times each driver does.

This is what it says on the split page of wrc.com ;)

'
Split times are available on many - but not all - of the stages in the WRC. If they are being recorded we'll show them here.
The number of points at which split times are taken and the distance between them depends on the length of the stage. The table below shows the time for each driver as they reach each split point, as well as their total stage time.
Clicking on a driver's name (in orange) will enable you to compare his or her split times to those of the other drivers. Faster times are shown in green, slower ones in red.'

EavesFan09
13th February 2010, 10:25
Don't think so.

They were both 43.0 through the first point and 3:11.2 through the second point. Indeed it is +0.0 for Grondholm through the first two points.

Sorry for whinning again, guys, but I'm kinda irritated with Latvala. Last year he crashed all the time, and this time he's slower than even Gronholm who hasn't driven for almost 2 years. What's the use of such a 2nd driver? Only his age? But there's a bunch of young drivers with natural fuel in blood, but with a cool head on their shoulders!!

Here In Portugal, the channel is SportV, and it's payed.

We pay 70 euro monthly for the videobox and channels subsricpton, and for the SportV channel they ask you for more 30 euros, and that's a robbery.
Plus in that channel you pay and get to see tons of minutes of adds, it's ridicously.

i know, but it might help if complaine and put pressure on those who can do something about it, like national tv channels, a huge e-mail campaigne might help, a few tousand e-mails every day for a month or so :)

pettersolberg29
13th February 2010, 12:12
Something must be wrong with Petter. He may not be 'up there' anymore, but his normal pace certainly isn't slower than Wilson, or 8s slower than Loeb in a SSS.

Maybe it's just the snow he hates in a C4? Mexico will show a lot - if he's still this slow then he's lost it. If he's up and around the top then the jury is still out.

It's just an observation. But does the splits page on wrc.com really need to feature five .gif advertisements. I mean for a page that you need to refresh quickly that's hardly ideal is it. It should also be self-refreshing but that is obviously asking way too much.

But I suppose since when has wrc.com actually given a s**t about rally fans.

If they were really bothered they would have a popout self refreshing window for stage times and splits. So not something confined to the layout of the standard news pages. This shouldn't be a difficult thing to achieve. Sure it would take a bit of effort but it would be nice to see them actually valuing something more than their leecher advertisers. You dont see this stuff when you follow the F1 splits. Why should we be stuck with a third-rate service?

I thought the new site was supposed to come online for the start of the new season? It's all just broken promises and lack of imagination.

Still no mention of Mikkelsen at wrc.com, but everyone can see from results that he is having a great fight with Tuohino. Took his third stage win now, but just a few tenths ahead of PG. Stretches his lead to Tuohino, though.
But its really just plain stupid that wrc.com simply ignores Andreas Mikkelsen. I think the guys writing the stuff call themselves journalists. Prostitutes is maybe a better description...

I agree completely. Just because he isn't fighting in the championship he's not mentioned. He is the second best driver in an S2000 car, only behind PG which isn't shameful at all.
So far, PG, Mikkelsen and Sordo join Ogier as my pleasant surprise of the rally. All 4 way ahead of expectation, or in PG's case performing so highly he needs a mention.

Anyone know why Marcus lost 7 mins? A puncture only takes 2 mins at most normally.
Must be more than a puncture because he lost much on the latter part of the stage.[/QUOTE]

but the argue about who change usually takes around 5 mins, or maybe they have already forgot how to change.

Well, I don't think it's much difference in stage distance (14.23 vs 18.15 km) but given that Sagen stage is faster, maybe new tyres help on what's supposedly more twisty Fredriksberg stage. Also, Loeb usually is able to pull rabbits out of his hat. I predict that he'll take back more than he just lost but not enough to take the lead.

jonkka

Yep this is the million dollar question. Mikko seems to think his tyres are spent so lets see. Not sure whether Seb can take 8secs out of him but I'm sure he'll try. I'd say he's good for around 1.5secs on the short stage too so it could close up nicely.
