Obviously it can't be Formula One or F1 so....?
I'll bet there will be a few new domain names being bought up as we speak.

My suggestion, Formula A World Championship, FAWC or the FA for short, no hang on, isn't that to do with football?

I don't think you can copyright 'Grand Prix' as it is used for many different sporting events, and as such it's a general term.

So I'd expect something like the World Grand Prix Championship, or similar.

Yep, just depends if Bernie/Max copyrighted GP1 at the same time as GP2 was set up.

i was just about to suggest the same. IMO World Grand Prix Championship has a very good sound to it.

The Rift - European style - Racing series

seriously, I am not holding my breath for anything close to Grand Prix and formula since I assume this area is covered pretty well with copyrigts. Also I think the manufacturers want to be as distinctive as possible and not coming close to being seen just a copy/paste.

actually I don't think so, since the title world and championship is exclusively with FIA. a "world champion(ship)" is not possible.
at least to my knowledge

Mark

It's a breakaway series independent from the FIA. So call it IndeCar :D

ok maybe so but i still like the name :P

World Grand Prix Series could possible work.

im also sceptical to anything with the number "1" in it simply because of possible trademark intrusion.

Surely FOTA is Formula One Teams Association? I would have thought that anything with Formula One in it will be copyright and if used by the new breakaway series then they would be stonned for being a blasphimer?

Since half the boardrooms of the manufacturers will cut the racing programme overnight, making every race as gripping as the 06 US GP.
