Now quite a psychologically complicated thread from my part.
As I have just finished my university studies in the discipline of history, the 'big question' about the future prospects still persists. What could I do further? The crucial point here is that I have no profession and am not a specialist in anything and... to take it further, I'm not interested in anything 'deeply enough' to really concentrate on it. I'm in the most general way interested in the whole world, a bit of everything.

I have recently asked myself, what I'd like to do the most. "Discovering the world" was the best answer I could find. But the matters of limited finances and economic crisis are factors to take into account. What I know, is that psychologically it has become extremely difficult to stay on here and to see the same streets/etc all the time - the will to witness the world is so comprehensive. At the same time it would be a major gamble, which would put existence at stake. At the same time it's so appealing. But what about survival? It would be pretty awful to run out of money and die from hunger.

Work for some UN agency that does field work. Join the US Navy. Go to some country seeking asylum, stay on their funds until they deny your request and pass you off to another country. Join the Merchant Marine. Seek employment on a cruise line. Seek employment with a company with global interests, like ABB. Buy and travel by motorcycle, stopping to work temp jobs when you need to rebuild your cash. I doubt you'd die of hunger unless you made a pest of yourself at the same places all the time.

Brush up on your outdoor living skills and start enjoying camping.

I had a nephew that did that for a couple years. He was a vegetarian until he rooted an entire hamburger out of a trash can in Spain during one of his low points. He did it for 3 years and when he returned home he found that his old friends had grown beyond him. He was still something of an adventuresome idealist, wanting to play and good time but his friends now had jobs, some had families, all had responsibilities, and most had shed their idealism. travelling is really the easy part. The hard part is when you try to rejoin the world with a 3 year gap in your cv. Something to think about.
