A U.S.-based language monitoring group crowned Web 2.0 as the one millionth word or phrase in the English language on Wednesday, although other linguists slammed it as nonsense and a stunt. :\

It is non-sense...web 2.0 is just stupid tech jargon!

- Web is already a word.
- 2.0 is not a word but a decimal number.
- "Web 2.0" if anything is two words because they're separated by a space.

Besides which, the only real standards for English are the OED, the Merriam-Webster and the Macquarie Dictionary, all others are piles of pants.

Exactly, it's a term, not a word.

Do we go listing all two word terms now?

Someone/group that can't get a real job baiting the press and getting them to bite on a ridiculous concept.
Ignore these phonies!
