Yeah, was listening on Radio TT - Good coverage. Awesome speeds round there. Wil McGuiness break his lap record again this year?
I do wonder how quick a MotoGP bike would be round there. Now that would be interesting.
A pity none of Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, Ducati don't send one over. Instead they use Superbikes. Playing Devil's Advocate, it could be said that it's not as relevant as it once was.

I suspect a GP bike would be a real handful to ride round there. Too peaky and way to rigid to ride the bumps.

Many of the Superbikes have a less aggressive engine map tune than their BSB equivalents to make them more ridable round the island. You only have to look at how close the Superstock times are to the Superbike times to see that the trick forks, chassis and highly tuned motors don't make that much of a difference.

John McG went even faster last night - if the weather is good the record is going to get shattered

I'd love to get over for the TT or and Irish road race. A friend of ours has gone over and i'm very jealous.

I also think that a MotoGP bike would be a handful around the Isle of Man but I don't think it would be because of the engine as the mapping and gearing could easily be changed to be user friendly. But they would be extremely flighty over such rough roads given they're designed for the glass-smooth GP racetracks.

Just seen on the bbc website
Australian rider Cameron Donald suffered a suspected dislocated shoulder after crashing in Friday's final Isle of Man TT practice session.

Donald, who set an unofficial lap record on Thursday, now looks certain to miss Saturday's Superbike opener after coming off at Keppel Gate.

The TAS Suzuki rider became the first man to lap the island course at over 131 mph on Thursday.

On Friday Steve Plater set the fastest superstock time of 126.93 mph.

Plater's time saw him just edge out Ian Hutchinson, who recorded a speed of 126.84 mph.

Plater, riding for HM Plant Honda, set his fastest Superbike time of the week in Friday's session (128.93 mph) but it didn't improve on his existing sixth place in the practice standings.

William Dunlop improved to seventh in the supersport qualifying after posting a lap of 123.34 mph while his brother Michael and Ryan Farquhar both improved their superbike marks in Friday's session.

Michael Dunlop posted a 125.74 mph superbike lap with Farquhar improving to 126.73 mph but both were still outside the top six and well adrift of Donald's remarkable circuit (131.45 mph) on Thursday.

Race organisers reported that Donald was "conscious and talking" after his crash on Friday and it was later revealed that he has suffered a suspected dislocated shoulder.

The Dainese Superbike and Sure Sidecar races will now take place on Monday – weather allowing - with the Superbike race starting at 11am.

true, but the danger is what makes true road racing special. They are literally at the razors edge and any mistakes can cost the ultimate price.

these racers have balls of titanium.
