What's the last car trouble you've had?

Mine was today in the ever reliable Audi 80.

Was turning off the last main road before home and I heard a fairly soft "POP" sound and noticed it was suddenly a lot warmer in the car :mark: Windows started fogging up something chronic. Sat there for about a minute or two until I realised that I had no torch and home was only about 50m away so I cleared a patch in the windscreen and drove home and parked up. On opening the bonnet I discovered I had no coolant and that the heater circuit on the engine appeared to have pooped itself all over the carpets which are now a lovely rusty brown colour :cheese:

Strangely enough none of my French or Italian cars ever had these issues ;)

Fancy some AA membership for your birthday?

The starter motor on my current car died about a year ago. Luckily it was still under warranty.
My old car had some interesting electrical faults and went through a phase of blowing fuses, causing the interior to fill with funny-smelling smoke.

Well I drove home today while having to constantly wipe the screen. Stupid I know :mark: Caroline drove out when I was finished work so we called up the AA on her membership. Basically the heater matrix is broken as I suspected. The guy from the AA bypassed the heater and it's all good :)

Up until the beginning of the year I ran an Escort van, just for the disco gear at weekends. I'd had this one about 18 months and it had never let me down once, past both it's MOT's whilst I had it too.

I then traded in some of the disco gear for newer, smaller but better kit which meant that I can easilly get it into my Passat and, at a squeeze, the wife's Astra. So this meant the van was surplus to requirements and I put it up for sale.

The same day I put the add in the paper it sprung a puncture on the N/S/R. Not wanting to change the wheel straight away, I used a footpump and pumped it back up, with the intention of if it went down again to get it fixed.

Following day the N/S/R was fine, however the N/S/F had obviously been talking to its rear compatriate and had decided to go down in sympathy. Same as before, pumped it up with a view to replacing if it went down again.

Strangely neither of them did and the van was sold.
