totally agree.
JML sometimes like duval,it's too early to win or beat mikko or seb.he need steady progress

Latvala is more talented that Duval because of his determination to win.

maybe, everyone has natural speed but duval and latvala just can not control it!

Yes Loeb is overall better driver than Hirvonen.
But this year I do think he "deserved" to win. There are at least 3 things which would have cost Loeb the title if rally ends like this:

1. No team orders on Sardinia => Latvala winning (-2 points for Mikko)
2. 2 Citroen junior drivers slowing up to 20 mins so that Loeb gets 2 points in Poland
3. "Clever" FIA decision to give just the "right" penalty to Citroen in Australia (specially compared with those windows on Fords before)

Sure it's small things, but they do add up.

If it was not for the Citroen team orders in spain, Hirvonen would have had a better chance of the championship.

For me all the drivers are, after all day, have similar driving abilty.

This is proved by shakedown. If the drivers keep pounding round and round, you will get Ogier setting a time on his 6th run, that matches Loeb.

Naturaly driving ability is 70%, the other 30% is in the driver head.

This is not measurable, and where Loeb has it over the other drivers.

Also remember Latvala's stupid crash in SSS of Poland which netted Seb 1 extra point.

Langdale Forest

That was Latvala's fault, AGAIN!

And that does not have much impact on the championship because things like that are always happening.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-ehDmd_O6g

Best to get some objectivity. Nobody is saying Hirvonen is not a good driver. He's a world class driver, just not on the level of Loeb. As I said yesterday, Loeb can control a rally and has a greater understanding of how and, most importantly, when to attack. He knows what stages he can pull time from and he knows when to turn the throttle down a little and bide his time.
From a fan's point of view we would all be happier if Loeb was a little slower or Hirvonen was a little quicker.

He's only 24 give him a break, i cant wait for him to start winning constantly and watch you guys say how you knew he would be the best, sitting behind a pc and pulling someone down isn't on. Every and i mean Every driver has to have accidents to gain speed just look at Malcolm Wilson he is being held back by his dad and he doesnt get anywhere and he never will until he has some good offs, you need to find the ultimate limit of the car the only way to find this is to drop it off the road a few times.

Please dont take me wrong im not having ago just trying to point you in the right direction, this sport is one of the hardest in the world, the only way to go forward is by experiance of the unexpected

What's the difference between Eyvind Brynildsen's Skoda (I believe it is a S2000) spec's to the specs of the WRC car for 2011? Will the 2011 cars be S2000 based as well? Sorry It's late for me and thought to ask even if it might be silly question. Just looking at the times because if Eyvind Brynildsen's times are slower than the WRC cars... then Loeb, Mikko etc will be driving those same times in that spec'd car?

The next stage is 35km, so if Hirvonen pushes and Loeb slows for any reason Hirvonen can take back alot of time.

This stage will probably be one of the most important stages of this years championship.

But remember that's the second pass of that stage, which means the surface is much worse then the previous one, meaning Loeb is much more advantageous being the first car on the road.

Go Mikko!!!It's your last chance!!!!

There is no advantage...And if there is,then it favours the guys behind, because now Loeb has the lines of PWRC and other cars which are different to the wrcs...

Has Loeb even got into double figures with his WRC crashes?

SupeRally greys everything up in my mind - but I think there's

Catalunya 02 / Australia 05 / Monte 06 / Sardinia 07 / Japan 07 / Sweden 08 / Jordan 08 / Acropolis 09 / Poland 09

I have him crashing in Argentina 03 but cant remember?

Yes Argentina 2003 he crashed

Although I hope Mikko can win it all. It´s still a long way to go.

Winfield-livery was used in Rally Australia 1997-98 by Mitsu as it was a local brand for team sponsor BAT (Pall Mall stickers were used normally). Marlboro livery came only from 1999 onwards as Loix joined the team.

I'm sure his motivation is total zero. I expected a win from JM and so did he. No point trying to even push. Just checking notes and enjoying the scenery with Miikka with a 75% speed.

I'd like to get a hold of that driveshaft and I'd beat it to unidentifiable piece of twisted metal. Then I'd throw it into a incinerator.

After stage 8 and 9 we all felt it... Loeb is the true champion. Those stages made him champion in both Hirvonen and Loebs mind. He is showing that kind of determination that only the best can pull off when needed: Mäkinen, McRae, Grönholm to name a few. Even if he retire tomorrow those performances earn a "moral title winner" :)

I do rot for the underdog Hirvonen in a way. As this year may be his best shot at the title. At least when Loeb is around. A few more tarmac rounds will turn the advantage in Citroen favor.

I was pretty sure Hirvonen would be slighty quicker than Loeb today. But he lacked the fighting spirit. Remember the days when a big fight meant moments and hairy spins? Seems like no top driver push themselves over the limit (exept for JML). Is it the cars? They seem to be easy to drive on the limit? Slippy GB should be full of "moments".

Anyho good day today.. lets hope the fight continue tomorrow!

True but in 2008 he also lost bags of time with wiper problems in the dark on Leg 1.

He then went on to win everything but the stadium super special in the next two days. So in terms of mentality you can go one of two ways. And this time jari-Matti chose to coast to the finish.

It might have been good for him to push because his momentum is really at an all-time low after this year. But he probably just wants the season to be over.

Yeah, honestly I don't understand Mikko in this situation neither.
Why doesn't he want to drive flat out, 50% over the limit?
- If he keeps his 2nd place, he won't take the title anyway.
- Waiting for Loeb to retire? But if this happens, it will happen regardless to what position Mikko is holding!
- In this situation it's no difference for Mikko whether he finishes 2nd or retires - Loeb will take the title. So Mikko should try!!! At least it's the only thing left to do!

Tomorrow there will be 80km without service and Mikko´s favorite stages. We can expect that Loeb takes two spare tires and some tools and parts more, so most probably his car will be heavier and therefore slower. Mikko should go to the stages with one spare and almost without any tools and spares and take risk that he might get two punctures or something else might happen. So, 7.6 sek on each stage or tomorrow and we will have very interesting final :-)
Just a interesting fact. In 2007 in similar conditions Mikko was over 51 sek faster than Loeb on the same stages :-)

He isn't in a manufacturer seat to have fun, he is in it to consistently get results, which he has shown he is completely incapable of doing. He isn't learning to be consistent, Ford should dump him for someone who will actually enable them to win the manufacturers title.
