For those who haven't been following Florida weather, Daytona, FL has been having massive amounts of rain lately. And the Speedway makes a nice bowl to hold in the flood waters.

Last time this happened an old man with a boat full of animals showed up and I'll be damned if I'm going to miss it this time!

Sounds like the track officials are not concerned about the track. :D

As for long-term damage to the track's surface, speedway representative Andrew Booth said for now it is not an issue.
"Like much of the surrounding area, we've received a significant amount of rainfall in recent days," he said.
"There has been no significant damage at the speedway from the rain but we have had some ponding of water.

Those pictures are scary stuff man....Lake Lloyd is now the whole infield?? lol...


Florida needed the rain, and I am sure by July everything will be peachy....

NASCAR announced Thursday that due to the enlarged size of Lake Loyd, all Jet Ski's will be required to run a 7/8 ths inch restrictor plate, effective immediately :p

damn, thats some rain pumped into florida.

thats actually a pretty cool site to see that much water on the track
