View Full Version : How smart are you?

Tough question. We are smart/clever in different ways. And the benefits of our lifes lie in the eyes of the beholder. Or something.

Anyway:
We have a scale. 0 is, well it is not good. It is like a piece of wood. 100 is like Leibniz, Einstein, Leonardo da Vinici. Brilliant in short.

In the middle we have the average worker.

So how clever are you? How clever do you consider yourself to be? Give me a score between 0-100. The winner will have a nice price ;)

Tough question really, don't think I am very intelligent but think I have a fair bit of common sense and do things logically, can do arithmetic, spell, use corrent grammar and punctuation's, and speak proper like.

How clever do you consider yourself to be?

Actually, I was a tiny bit serious, when starting this thread. Most of us are probably average, or a bit over. We are probably all disappointed that we are not more bright then we are, at least I am.
Then there is also the problem ofgiving a serious figure which is a bit high, or to give a low serious figure.
Ok, lets see if this thread survives a bit more.

In the short term, I gave myself a 100 for suspecting you of being less than honest about the "nice price". Then I reconsidered that perhaps "nice price' was not a typo for "nice prize" and you meant to sell the high scorer to the highest bidder at a "nice price" so I have revised my score to 001. Unlike the wiley block of wood, I know enough to come in out of the rain.

I have a first class degree from a reputable university as well as a professional qualification but I wouldn't say I'm clever. I have managed to pass almost evey exam I've taken with above average marks but to be honest I would say that's because I'm good at learning stuff. I have very blonde moments and I'm quite rubbish at thinking outside the box. Luckily for me I've got a decent job which I can do well so it doesn't really matter if I'm clever or not now. My cv is based around more than exam results.

Thanks gridgirl!
This was obviously one difficult question for people to reply to. And I was hoping that we could have some serious answers...
Ok. I give my self 70. Beat it if you can, or the price will be mine!

I don't know, sometimes brilliant sometimes incredibly dumb. I guess I am good at some things and bad at others. I like to think I am a little better than average but it is not for me to tell.

I would like to be more brilliant that's for sure.

Magnus...judging by your posts, your candor and ability to use language effectively, and the fact you are an all around swell guy, I would be happy to be a 70 with you. But considering you are bilingual and I am not, and I like the number, I will be a 69!

Has anyone picked up on my -273 or to be exact -273.15?
No googling. A friend used to run -273 as his car number and no one figured it out. :D

so called measurable molecular movement has stopped, sometimes called absolute zero (but one might think that would be a little above average around here)

Being serious about it, i would say about 72, i do know an awful lot of things, but it tends to be the useless stuff no-one wants to know about :p :

Seriously, I'm pretty savvy and very successful in business and am a very strong negotiator, so probably in the 70's to 80's range.

My wife, however, would argue that I'm a 1 at most :p :

I am so SMRT.

I mean SMART.

Serious for a second.

I'd hope I'm above average. I have decent IQ, so I'd guess: 64

99.9

The missing 0.1 I attribute to my extreme humbleness and lack of ego holding me back.
