First of all I wanna thank everyone who participated on this years championship and I hope you continue next year.
Also, I'm willing to continue being the organizer, but if someone else wants to take the responsability contact me.
Now let's get into bussiness!
- The Calendar is pretty much different form this years, with new rallyes we need to discuss wich game rallyes we'll use.
here's my suggestion, feel free to suggest changes (M) stands for mirrored
19-21 January - Montercarlo(Italy(M))
9-11 Febraury - Sweden(Sweden)
16-18 Febraury - Norway(Sweden(M))
9-11 March - Mexico(Kenya)
30 March-1 April - Portugal(Australia)
4-6 May - Argentina(UK(M))
18-20 May - Italy-Sardinia(Greece(M))
1-3 June - Greece(Greece)
3-5 August - Finland(Finland))
17-19 August - Germany(France(M))
31 August - 2 September - New Zealand(Finland(M))
5-7 October - France-Corsica(France)
12-14 October - Spain(Italy)
26-28 October - Japan(Australia(M)))
18-18 November - Ireland(France-Italy)
30 November - 2 December - UK(UK)
- Citroën C4- wich game car to use? I suggest Toyota Corolla

Javier, the Irish Rally should be fast using France-Italy stages!
I've had enough of the PUG this year, so I'm looking for a lonely FORD Team who may need a new Team member. What Focus skin would I use for 2007? Mr Cairns, I guess would be a good start?
52Paddy
7th December 2006, 15:18
I think one leg of Rally Ireland will be tarmac and another one on gravel so maybe consider running days 1 and 3 tarmac and day 2 on a forest or gravel. I would reccomend French stages for tarmac and UK stages for gravel it is manageable.
I will probably not be able to compete much next year due to a full schedule with school and music related things. I'll put in a privateer entry sometime but will only appear when I have free time.

I'm looking forward to establish a M2 Citroen team, perhaps if someone yould like to join me?
Furthermore, I belive we should have teams divided in M1/M2 category as in real WRC?
jso1985
7th December 2006, 23:14
but how to put them in M1/M2?
according to FIA regulations a M1 team must field at least 2 cars every rally, if we take that rule, then no team was M1 this year!
With our rules the differences are that Private teams can also use cars that Manu teams can't anymore(Peugeot 207, Skoda Fabia and Citroën Xsara)
To Jon Brown and JamesWRC, this is an offline championship, you run your rally send me your times and the results come up, for detailed info go to:
http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/cmr2wc
enjoy!

About Monte, not a bad idea, didn't want to use Sweden too much, but 5 stages will do no harm, plus wet tarmac tyres are fun :D
With the C4 and the Xsara I think we need some more discussion here, I don't want to restart the discussion of wich car is the best but in my view the SEAT doesn't look as so much quicker than the others, but I find the Focus quite faster, so I based my suggestion of the Corolla taking count how the Citroën C4 looks like, taking another look it actually looks like a Ford Focus, so what you guys think about it?
oh God look at my teamate :erm: :p :

I like the idea of mixing stages .
2 or 3 stage of snow in Montecarlo
and maybe other mix for Italy-Sardinia, New Zealand and Germany
This is only to remove the repetitiveness of running the same stage again and again.
I think the all team should talk about that. I know it is hard for the organization to deal with mixing stages.
Happy new Year!

I think the seat is the best (WRC)car in the game. If the SEAT is used for the C4 I will go to the Citroen manufacturers team, if not I will run a privateer SEAT/Citroen team.
jso1985
4th January 2007, 17:30
I was suggesting the Focus due the shape similarity, after some testing I can "certify" now that the SEAT is really the fastest car in the game but not with a big gap, surely a midfield driver is not gonna be an up-front driver from one day to another with a SEAT but between equal drivers it can make a difference.
Now we really don't know if the real-life C4 is gonna be a kick ass car like the Xsara was.
But please keep discussing, so far it goes 2 votes for the Focus and 1 for the Cordoba, a final desicion will be made on Wednesday.
About the calendar, I'm adding Sweden(M) for day 3 with wet tarmac tyres, any other suggestions are welcomed, final calendar will also be published next Wednesday

I will also be racing in 2007, I just haven't figured out if I'm to apply for a factory seat or do another year as privateer.

Hi!
I think, it doesent make any sense to run a factory championship for 6 person.
I agree with Javier, C4 skin should be use on the focus. The new C4 is a pig in a poke until a few rallys, and in addition the new c4 is much longer than the xsara.

Entries are way too low right now, from experience from other years we'll probably end up with only 3 players at the end of the year. maybe we could run a shorter calendar and the championship will only last til June, any thoughts regarding this idea?

I'm still in discussions as yet.
Not certain whether i'll be in a Citroen or a Ford this year yet.

No, please don't make a short calender!
The cool thing about this championship is that is follows the "real" calender, and that you still have a shot at getting the title, even if you miss a round or two!
What we have to do is to recruit new members and drivers from other forums and and CMR2 ligas..
Mail your sim-racing friends, post on other forums, spread the word!
jso1985

so far most of the drivers are in for a full calendar, and I agree with their point that one of the cool things of this champ is that we use the real calendar.
Tomorrow I'm getting a surgery(nothing dangerous don't worry) so I won't be able to get online until monday or tuesday, so keep discussing and we'll get a final calendar and other details when I come back

I am also in favour of a full season calender.
A 2 day race is no problem for me, although for me the current system is better as I normally go faster each extra time I do the stage. As I never practice, the 3rd day always gave me some time back and even gave me a few wins extra.

In a few days the organizer will post the deatils for the Monte Carlo rally. The rally uses stages from Colin mcRae Rally 2.0. You run the route as prescribed in the rally thread, and submit times to the organizer (jso1985) by PM.

This a an off-line championship for the Colin McRae 2 Rally game, basically you just a run the rally and send me your times, then I post the resulst and we move into the next round. fully explained rules can be read here : http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/cmr2wc
No updates needed, if you're using the PC version you can download skins, but that's optional.

Still uncertain what to do, since I'm a rookie this 2007 season, these to options seems to be the most interesting for me. But I'm worried about the speed been to slow for the Peugeot for racing in Italy/france type of races. I could go in the Seat team, if they want me there... I like Peugeot, but the pace...

Okay, sounds like fun.
It's just skin's that could change? Not speed or something that gives an advantage.
I don't know if there's anything available to download that makes the car faster, but if there's, they're not allowed.

Good. Then everybody has equal cars.
I hoped that someone had made cars somewhere(there are really to few cars in this game i think). Skins i don't really need....what's the point.

Been watching this for a while now and i think that im ready to participade. The Mitsubishi WRT is my car anyway!
PS. Just one thing. My CMR2 game is broke right now, BUT i will get a new one as soon as possible, i´ll maybe have to pass the Monte Carlo Rally because of this but im in to fight for the championship this year!
Edit: Do anyone know any good sites where i can download new cars. The Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 05 Wrc for example?

Hi!
Here you can download skins for example:
http://www.gportal.hu/portal/colin2summercup/
This is the hungarian cmr2 champ home page.
Click to " Letöltés " in the Menu (the left side the page)
Than click " BELÉPÉS " , and ther will you find the list of the skins that are available to the game

From my perspective of the last 3 seasons i've competed in it's nice to have team mates at last.
Glad to be on board. See you at the Monte (travelling straight from Silverstone :p :)

Sorry, you can't, we tried lower categories in past years but we couldn't find an effective way to make sure they can't beat WRC cars easily plus the entries were always very low.
Also feel free to change to official name of your team according to your likes or your sponsor

jso1985. Because we have more driver in the Championship. Did you think of the return of the full Championship. Maybe with 2 days rallye? Or a short season with 3 days rallye?

There is a problem with my game. When it got to 32% installed this prompt came up:
Component: Main Media
File Group: Levels
File: E:Game\Tracks\France\Fra04Hi.bfl
Error: Data Error (cyclic redundancy check)
Would this mean there is a problem with the disk or is there some other way around the problem?
jso1985

probably the disc is scratched

Why don't you just buy another copy of the game. A year ago a bought it for 3 euros.

It's a matter of trying to find the game more so than the money. It's difficult enough to find it around but I should buy it if I come across it. You're right Ramore.
