Would love to go to one of those road race events some time, especially IOM. Bravest men on earth.

i watched cam race here a few times, i have his autograph and fotos taken with him,he raced a full season here, i have a few clips on youtube (suzukimad07) of different races here in ireland,(north west 200) is the biggest you can look it up on youtube, all the races are on public roads not race tracks so when we say road races we mean road races !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjFYt_IKzDA this is to ninjamaster

I nearly got to meet the man at Phillip Island a couple of years ago. Spewin I missed him. Apparently a lovely guy. Friend of my old man has been to IOM and another Irish road race (the name escapes me at the moment) and caught up with Cam in the pits a few times. Oh, that's right, it was Kells I think.

We semi-regularly drag out a dvd of the 2008 Manx TT. It is just an incredible circuit and equally amazing riders. Kinda reminds me of one of our weekend rides...

the iom tt races are great, but its racing against the clock they leave at 10sec interviles and you dont get to see much passing and diceing but take a look at nw200 they leave in groops of 20 an theres up to 90 riders in one race, so aftersay 3 laps its a steady flow of bikes ducking an diveing at speeds of 200mph !!!!!!!!!! m rutter done 201.87mph 3years ago on a ducatti all irish road races are like this but not as big as nw200,the ulster gran prix is called the fastest race in the world, there is thousands of clips on youtube so when you see all these bikes comeing down a public road at these speeds an then going round twiste corners over railway tracks bridges bumps in mid air you think waooooooooooooooo they are mad !!!!!have a look at clips 08 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wo4raYDTwdk

Until 3 years ago I had never heard of the NW200 and did not know true racing took place on the roads. I thought it was all time trial (IoM) style.

The NW200 is one of the events I dream of attending. The spectacle on television is simply amazing, so to see it in person would be awesome.

The slipstreaming is nothing short of sensational and 4 wide down the never ending straights at top speed is regular.

Some of the corner speeds, with NO room for error is outstanding and frightening.

Bring it on!

how did you findout ?

I actually found it on a torrent site a few years back whilst looking at some IoM stuff. IoM runs a very poor second to the NW!

For me the NW200 is one of the best motorsport events in the calander year.

Whilst I would love to see many different events in many different countries, this one is at the top of my list.

suzukimad07, can you please keep all the Cookstown stuff in this thread please?

It's cool that we've got someone following Irish road racing with a good degree of enthusiasm, can we just keep it tidy please?

Thanks,

Pat

Farquhar has been rideing and winning on kawasakis since about 2000 onwards, he rides a 250cc honda sometimes and 500cc honda classic on the isle of man (he started winning road races back in 1998,raceing against Robert and Joey Dunlop etc)
