The "IRON MAN" of the IRL is BACK !!! Welcome back Sharpie !!! We missed ya.
Hopefully Scott won't be back just for Indy. With his successful ALMS program, he has shown to be a very capable road racer. I think if he did get back into the IRL full time he would be a force to be reckoned with.

I guess you don't know where he came from. Multiple SCCA/Trans-Am victories and titles.

Also, I'm glad to see him back in the IRL. I hope he stays around for a while.

Excellent. I am very happy to see that there are going to be a lot of entries at Indy this year - should be great.

I was fully aware of his SCCA background, just that he had driven ovals exclusively for most of his IRL career and didn't really get to show what he was made of in the IRL road/steet races.

He showed he could be very competitive on road/street courses with his ALMS program.

I think Mr. Sharp would be an excellent addition. It is a wonder to me why he ever really fell off the radar.....

I thought this thread was going to be about the Patron girls . . . ;)

I wish Tequila Patrón returned to the IRL even though the chances for that are very slim. Without any competition, Acura will win every race in the LMP1 category of the ALMS... And then there are the Versus ratings.

After that dispute he and Patron had with RLR before the 2008 season, he took his money and left. I don't think it's so much that he fell off the radar, probably more that Patron liked the idea of going to the ALMS and Sharp was driving on their dime.
