The season is finally on its way with the IRTA Test this weekend.

Dani Pedrosa wont be at the test after his accident in Qatar. He will be replaced by Kousuke Akiyoshi (HRC's Suzuka 8 hour rider who has previously ridden for Suzuki in MotoGP). Pedrosa says he will be able to ride in the first race of the year

Gibernau returns to action after missing the Qatar test because of injury but he isnt 100%.

I believe teams must have their race liveries for the Test so the Monster Yamaha should make its debut and Rizla will be back on Suzuki. Maybe we will see the Playboy LCR too :D

The final test for the BMW M Award will be live on British eurosport

125 and 250 already started testing

BMW is once more providing the ultimate prize with a limited edition BMW 135i ‘BMW Sauber F1 Team Edition’ ready to be driven away from the test by the fastest rider. Only 135 of these cars have been made in respect of the 135 points that BMW Sauber F1 Team scored last year in Formula 1.

Im glad to see the end of qualifiers. It was good to see the riders stay out and put in a few flying laps on race tyres rather than do one flyer and come in for an new qualifier. I think it may shake up the grid too, with racers like Vermeulen who were always poor qualifiers, not being handicapped every race with a poor start.

the BMW session was red-flagged due to:

JT doing his best Whore-Gay Lorenzo impression :D

He received an ankle sprain and shoulder contusion.. :( ..

ChrisS

JT's crash was scary to watch, good to see he got away relatively OK, it want do any good to his confidence though that was already low.

I think the times do not represent each riders true potential, JT's crash red flagged the test as the riders were getting ready for their final push and then soon after the restart there was rain

If the session wasn't red flagged I think everyone would be faster, including Stoner, and a few riders would be further up
