It's taken long enough! Nine years...

And the times from the morning:

I see Tom Chilton is still struggling a bit with the new Focus...

The Astra coupe is turning in respectable times. Adams on fire, as is Gio :P
Shows what ever developement VX have done on the Veccie this year has paid off, as it is it's 3rd year and only just now have they beaten it.

AW-BMW have altered the livery, but still looks a bit s***.

Im not a BMW fan, but I think it looks fine!

The Focus isn't looking that fast but good to see the Astra isn't a million miles behind.

Wonder why theres no CVR?

Chilton's times aren't THAT slow! Still within a second of of first place (at this afternoons pace). Not bad for what is essentially a car straight out of the box. Brands Hatch Indy probably isn't the best place to show the progress either

It wasn't particularly on form at Rockingham either. Granted there were engine problems, but from a team like Arena I was expecting a little more comfortably inside the top ten.

That said it is the only new car in the field, as all of the rest have had two years of experience!

But remember Chilton isn't the best of drivers either. Who knows how fast it might be with Thompson or Plato behind the wheel.

Give them a chance! The car's pretty much new out of the box. They've only had a handful of days' running. The time they were able to spend on the track at Rockingham was pent doing short runs to work on the most basic parts of the setup.

For what its worth the times Chilton has been putting in lap after lap do seem pretty consistent, and not far off everyone else's lap after lap pace. Which would suggest that they just don't have the single lap pace in the car yet.

maybe that was what they wanted - a consistent lap pace showing that it is reliable rather than throwing new tyres at a car just to get one or two fast laps. Different testing strategy.

Back to the topic - the lap record is not broken yet - has to be done in a race

But Mullers lap record was set during qualifying?

In a race meeting, I thought it had to be.
