Colin...it is short track racing. Beat and bang, push and shove, the roots of NASCAR. Racing in stock cars takes place on more half miles than any other type of track anywhere. Martinsville is to NASCAR that Fenway Park is to baseball or the old Wembley Stadium would be to the Premier League. IT is the roots.....and a throwback to an other era.....

NASCAR without Martinsville would be boring.

How dare you call it boring when Fontana is on the schedule? good god man......

I say make a motion to Nascar to change the short tracks to last 50 laps for single-file restarts, its kinda annoying to see the teams get screwed over because guys 2-3 laps down have to be jackasses

I rate the race about a 8.5 on a scale of 1 to 10. Best race of the season so far.

Jr is now within 44 points of displacing Kenseth in the top 12. Burton will soon displace Reutimann.

Mikey is an embarassment....and I agrre with harv on the restarts.

Pretty good race I thought.

Nice close racing up front, and huge kudos to Hamlin for what he said after the race. He could quite easily have bitched about the pass but acknowledged the good, exciting racing. Impressive domination by Chevy, will they be able to continue it next week??!

maybe nascar should issue the rule for lap cars like today in the truck race, they couldnt race the leaders.

Hmm - ok then. Massive portion of humble pie was served up to me after this race. What fun. That was really entertaining, and I take back the boring tag I gave the track.
Wonder if this is a one-off, or whether this new(ish) car, this track, these conditions all conspired to make it good.
One of those things we will never know for sure. But it sure was good.

Anyone think Jimmie was too heavy handed? Or did Denny just squeeze too much after going in a little too wide for Jimmie's fast approach on his rear?

I am inclined to go with a 50-50 perfectly fair passing attempt which was defended hard, but just a fraction too late.

Wonder how this pair will face up to each other the next time they are in a similar position.

I guess i should come clean and admit to enjoying the race as well. I've always slagged off Martinsville as being an awfull track with dull boring races but sunday proved me wrong.
However I still much prefer Bristol and Fontana and dont think it deserves 2 races either.Oh dear im sounding all anti-Martinsville again already, thats not my intention lol!

I love good ol' short track racing but there's not many 'old school' short tracks that are just over 1/2 mile. Plus Martinsville is the oldest track on the schedule.
