I nominate the Volk/Rays Engineering TE37 as it looks so right on everything:

At least two alloy wheel makers have replicated it - Rota did it well and it is marketed as a replica, whereas Inovite made a poor looking copy claiming it to be their own design...
Some Super GT cars even use TE37s, and it has been seen on everything from a 1994 Civic to a modern 911 to classic Alfa Romeo racers in Japan
I'll put some more pictures in a second post :-)

I always liked 5 spoke wheels.

I had Veilside Andrews Racing V on my old car, they are one of my all time favourite wheels

Whilst technically hubcaps aren't alloy wheels, the set that are on this proposed replacement for the Routemaster are I think, quite brilliant.

Queen Bodecia slicers.
The sharpest wheels anywhere.
A cut above all else.
Nobody stood a chance around them.
Outlawed as a weapon of mass destruction.
They lowered everyone one notch.

I'd have to agree - there are some naff alloys around. The best ones are the 'proper' Motorsport alloys - as used in Motorsport. Saying that, they do cost money mind you.

Never particularly liked those OZ multi-spokes. Too chavvy on most cars apart from something like the V6 Clios

Eh? Not at all IMO. Love proper OZ wheels, would love a set on my car bu they cost a fortune.

No.

Yes but they're good wheels and fairly lightweight. I personally wouldn't put the white ones on anything because they do look a little too tryhard, but the Superturismo GT's will look good on most cars.

I'd love to convince Caroline to get a set of these (Speedline 2012's) for her Legacy as I think they just look "right" on it :) What do you reckon? :p

Well if you're going to keep a car for a while I think the cost can be justified above and beyond what you're going to pay for a set of Halfords rims which will be peeling and looking crap after only a few years.

P.S Wedge, those Speedline 2015's look GORGEOUS on Delta's :)

Umm Daniel, Halfords do OZ wheels :p : Can't do Halfords rims anyway as I needthem staggered and if it's a serivce that Halfrauds do then you probably pay through the nose for it. Most likely that I'll just keep scouring eBay and the like until something I think will look good crops up at a decent price :)

My least favourite wheels at the moment are TSW Imola, coz I have 3 good ones and 1 bent one (apparently not fixable), so if anyone out there has a 17x8 rim peferably with a 4 stud 108 PCD fitment, I'll pay you a good price!

Well if we're using this thread for advertising then I'm after a set of 17s 5x114.3 PCD ET38 8j rear and 7j front :D :D Preferably with 225/40/17 rear and 195/40/17 or 205/40/17 front :)

Minilites kick ass (hence the long list of replicas) but only look good on a small list of cars IMO.

Agree  Minilites do kick ass :D

For older Fiat's Cromodora's kick ass too.

Yeah a very short list. And that list does NOT include the Relliant Robin I saw wearing 12" versions today.

The original Compomotive MOs used on so many tarmac rally cars or the OZ Chronos that were used on the ST205 GT4 works cars.

Ooh they are nice...... I think anything that has been on a cool Works rally or race car is cool.

I'd have to agree, however, I have a RaceBlue Fabia vRS - I'm not sure a set of white alloys would go with it on a road car.

Well they do come in gold and silver as well but tbh I think MO's suit early to mid 90's cars a lot more than they do modern cars. I think it's important to match rims up with a car of the same age. Superturismo GT's would look ridiculous on an 80's car for example and Minilites would look stupid on a Fabia for example :mark:

MrJan

I think that Superturismos could look pretty sweet on some '80s cars. Some of the Japanese stuff they would suit fairly well IMO, or something like a Nova or a 405.

That would almost be sacrilege to put Minilites on a modern car. Escorts or Minis are what Minilites look fab on.

MK1 Cortinas and Sunbeam Alpines can pull off minilites too, can't think of anything modern which would suit them though, everything is too bulky these days
