That is good! I really thought Toyota and BMW would excel this season and that maybe Sutil would score a few points. Instead I am only picking up scraps as I languish at second-bottom of the table.

So, another lackluster GP for my team.

Team: Williams had a decent start to the weekend. Nakajima seemed to have upped his game and Rosberg was pretty decent during the first stint (short-term advantage of his large fuel load.) It didn't materialise to much though. 1 point for all their effort.

Engine: Toyota had possibly their worst race so far this season. Trulli gone by turn two and Glock scrapping for 10th or 11th with Kubica for most of the race. :mark:

Drivers: Alonso put in a decent performance given his cars inferiority. But I had no chance with having Bourdais on my team. I've been saying since the beginning of the season that I expect Bourdais to achieve more consistent solid results. But its taking longer than I expected and I'm not sure how much more suspense I can be kept in before I loose hope in him altogether :(

We had some issues with Vista and xml but I think aryan changed it to be more universal.
What kind of problems are you having?

I spend almost my whole budget to get ferrara engine & chassis, and they both get me less points that Ruebens, who cost me like 3,000 I think?????

If I had only got a mercedes engine!

The sad thing is that N. Jones got me into the FGP about 4 years ago. He got beat the first 2, he beat me last year, and this year is really looking depressing for him. I really thought BMW and his team was going to smoke me. Sorry Brohime!

I put too much faith in my drivers. I thought Alonso would start to develop with every race but its slow progress thus far. Then again, the season is early and Alonso is known for his rate of development through the season so maybe I just need to be a bit more patient. I always believed Bourdais just had a tough year to deal with in 2008 but now I'm beginning to reconsider that though.

I'm fairly happy with my Toyota engines, they're having a good year in the works team. I've got a Williams chassis and I can see Rosberg getting a decent points haul later in the year. Maybe even a podium or two in the right circumstances. Not too sure about Nakajima though. I was impressed with him in Quali at the weekend but he never makes an impact in the race.

That's the thing - those people and teams not in the points will turn it around. They may not become championship contenders but they move up farther in the grid. Sadly though I wonder if Toyota is going to fall backward, their last two races haven't been much to write home about.

Toyota is starting to drag me backwards, with just Brawn keeping points income up.

By now it's probably clear that the best choice for FGP would have been opting for a full Brawn GP package. And even better, it would have been possible to get all that quite cheaply. :D

Three new teams for 2010. Cosworth possibly coming back. This will give everyone who enters FGP next season a nice large pool of drivers and chassis to choose from (there may be one additional engine for a total of six. Still not many to choose from there).

Bad again :(

Drivers Alonso did a solid job all weekend with that dog of a car. Though not enough to get in with the boys at the front. But Bourdais was genuinely disgraceful yet again. :mark:

Team Williams had a pretty good weekend. Rosberg was particularly good in the opening stint. :up: Nakajima did well in qualifying during the session. And his opening part of the race was good too, but unfortunately he fell back after that. :s

Engine For Williams-Toyota, see above. And for the Toyota works team, well it would have been better if Trulli kept Webber behind him at the beginning. Still a good showing. Less can be said for Glock, disappointing :down:

Glock finally scored some points for me but I guess my faith in Sutil was a mistake.

BMW is a dog and they are going to keep me at the bottom all season.

Sonic - I'll run two of them if there is interest. Maybe with two teams in open wheel some of us might do better in the standings!

I wonder though - if there is a breakaway does that mean everyone in F1 will be using a standard engine? That would take away one of our point categories....

Thanks for your effort. I'm aiming for a 'strong midfield' performance by the end of the year. When I put the team together I never figured Raikkonen to be the sqeaky wheel, or that I'd be counting on the Toyota lumps in the backs of the Williamses instead of the factory efforts.

I'm in trouble. Bourdais is now gone so I have only 1 driver for my campaign. And that's Alonso, what dreaded luck that race was :mark: Toyota don't have their early season pace, though Glock drove decently. Nico Rosberg is driving steadily enough for Williams but it won't be enough to get my campaign off the ground at this stage in the championship.

You could always ask a moderator if he could create a sticky topic purely for updating the results after each race. It would essentially be a closed sticky thread which just moderators and yourself have access to. Its a lot handier than making a website too.

My year is over now. Alonso, Rosberg, Nakajima, Glock and Trulli are scoring me points (or not scoring me points more like!)

I don't expect Toyota drivers to return to form before the end of the season. However, I am hopeful that Rosberg will score a podium or two if he keeps up his current pace and Nakajima might just end his pointless run all year. Still doesn't help me in the slightest as far as this FGP goes! :rolleyes:

Well, it's nice to win a race (albeit one where my team was the only one in bonus-gp mode)! Now if only the Red Bull chassis could have continued in form it would have been an astronomical result, but I'm certainly glad both my drivers were on the podium! Now, to sit back and watch all those 'asterisked' teams overtake me again lol.

This is due to Warum Nicht and Force Yorkshire having the same team makeup (Button-Barrichello-Brawn-Mercedes), for FT have no way of overcoming their nine point deficit.

Congrats to Warum nicht , I thought I had pulled a masterstroke when Brawns started the season so well, but was ultimately thwarted with their tailing off at the end of the season.

Anyway - all good fun!

A website makes viewing much easier and I am glad to report that there WILL be a website for next year (and beyond) as I am going to build it on my own.

I'm still kicking myself in the head for choosing Ferrari over Mercedes engines.

Still remember when I decided to trade a driver to be able to afford the Ferrari engine instead of going with my gut feeling and sticking with Mercedes. Damn!

Hello all, just returned from Italy so please excuse me for not writing earlier.
First, may I thank Mr. Jones for his time effort and dedication in running this competition, without you I guess there would have been no FGP,SO ONCE AGAIN THANKS JONESY, second, a big thank you to all the participants I hope everyone enters next year and good luck and may the best man/women win, and last but not least thanks to all those who have congratulated me, honestly I really don't deserve it, believe me it was more luck than judgment.

My team was a mix of the strong (Barichello, RedBull) and the nearly departed (Raikkonen, Toyota). Looking forward to 2010's efforts!

Lol. I didn't believe the Brawn hype, even though I was one of a few who choose Honda in 2008 because of Ross' involvement. Secondly, I was seriously thinking of going with Vettel and the Red Bull chassis but I thought Adrian Newey's designs were too fragile. Was I Wrong!
What happened to my picks was rather the opposite. Once I picked the Mercedes engine and Ferrari chassis (the picks I had confidence in :s ) my budget was gone, so the last minute offering of Button-Barrichello was what I could afford. It was a pure shot in the dark based on a couple of good testing sessions. I got pushed off the podium by picking Spa based on Button's previous win there - and the blighter repaid my confidence by not making it through the first lap!

My surprise is that Ferrari proved my team's undoing, but given the dumb luck with drivers, that is probably just fortune evening things out a little. If karma works as advertised I should be in the bottom 10 next year.

Thanks a lot for running the game. It added a lot of fun to the season. Hope you have better luck with your own picks next year (or that the no-good-rotten Chicago National League Ball Club wins the World Series).

That is not a bad decision on your part. They were cheap but for once the testing times were reflected come race day. Hopefully things go just as well next year.

And, you welcome. I enjoy doing it so it is no burden to me. :)
