I know, I already posted this in a previous thread, but I started a new one anyway to make sure everyone notices it:

OK, its done. The ESPN Stock Car Challenge is up and running. I have set up this year's group.

For those new people that haven't done it before, go to the following site

Set up your entry (team name, etc) Pick your 5 drivers, stay under the 100 point "salary cap".

Then click on Create or Join Group under your team name

Do a search on the group name MSF Nascar Fans

This is a "private" group (really semi private, anyone who comes here as access to the Password).

When prompted enter the foillowing password:

It shouldn't matter what case, I don't belive the site is case sensitive, but if you have difficulty with getting in try it in all caps

im not starting this off too well. it seems you can only have two top value drivers and get lucky with the mediocre choices. i took off edwards for kenseth, kept three others roling the dice again with truex, and changed one other because of value. tony stewart's value should go down soon and he will be easier to get. i mean a non-hms/jgr/rfr/rcr car is gonna have growing pains.

Thanks for the back-up Stan. Turns out it wasn't a hard drive issue, it was a boot virus of all things. My 17 year old diagnosed the problem, all it took was a simple DOS command "fixmbr" and I am back up and running. I should have asked him to start with, he's gonna be an IT person when he grows up :D

But I am good to now ! :beer:

i hated doing it, but i took harvick out of my lineup for this week. i need 650 and over a week and just saw better top five aspects over him. his value is too high considering his inconsistency for top 10s this year. unless someone can tell me that bowyer wont finish better, i'm leaving harvick out. i have two drivers that can go for strong top five runs and one who i think can win. i took two top ten caliber cars, and if i took harvick over bowyer, i would have to go for a lower driver of about 1.0 than the other top ten car, and there isnt one. then there is a driver who is coming around and having consistent top 20 finishes, and anyone lower than him is at more risk of a outside top 30 finish. i just had to do it, and i need to win, and if i got his drivers right, the points leader is over the 100 limit now and has to adjust his lineup so this kind of stuff will help those that need to catch up, because the value eventually catches up.

Its definitely possible, because you have to re-pick your drivers at the beginning of each segment, and I can't see Hoss being able to re-sign all 5 of his current drivers at their market value, etc, etc....Definitely possible :up:

stan i believe i was down 500 points at one point last year and managed to make up 300 of it back, but i'm in a slump early this time so there is definitely more time to fix things. i went on a limb this last week with kyle busch and that blew up in my face. i'm trying to get myself in position where i could get 700 in certain races.

Segment 2 starts after the All-Star race. We now know which drivers will be good this year and which ones will be "not-so-good". Segment standings have been reset at 0, but the season is cumulative.

I may be 1087 points out, but I have KH29 in my sights. I have already picked my new line up, and there are some real steals out there!

Reminder. The Richmond race this weekend is the end of Segment 2. Segment 3 starts the week after at New Hampshire, so make sure you reset your line ups after this upcoming race (although all y'all are so far ahead I might not be able to catch up even if you forget!) :eek:
