With the first speculation about 2008 beginning to appear on the other thread I thought I'd start this one.

This is for all information regarding the 2008 BTCC series.

The first bits of information are:

Kartworld Racing are planning to run a pair of Super 2000 cars in 2008.

Arena International are planning their BTCC comeback with a pair of BMW 320is E90s.

Encke Sport are hoping to run Super 2000 cars in 2008.

I seem to remember Motorbase saying they wanted Leons for 2008.

I seem to remember Motorbase saying they wanted Leons for 2008.

I would imagine that a lot of teams would want Leons.

According to Alfa Fan, he says on another post that Jason Hughes will have 2 for 2008!

That was speculation!

Oh my God, no doubt this thread will descend into car production numbers, wheel arches and all sorts of ridiculous speculation

Alfa you should be ashamed, or shot, or both! :p :

I hope not!

Well, duh and Mondello

I was under the impression that they wouldn't go back to Mondello in the near future because of the cost factor for the smaller teams.

How badly do Mondello want a round?

Would they kick the tin to get the series to come back?

all current teams planning to run with nice shiney new cars, with plenty of new sponsors, lots of other teams planning to enter with young championship winning drivers, several manufacturers heavily linked to teaming up with front running independents.

Rickard Rydell, Alain Menu, Paul Radisich, Anthony Reid and many otyher old names form the past will be wished for and none will appear

Clyde Valley racing will still be planning to make the start of the season in non-existent Chevvy's and DW racing will have "exciting plans" to be announced at a later date.

;)

Crikey, I thought the thread title was a mis-print. Any chance we can at least get this season started before we start stiring crap up about possibles for next year?

I'm glad Eki doesn't post in here, he would have started a 2038 BTCC Rumours thread. :p :

2038 - David Coulthard, fresh from finally retiring as a no-time F1 Drivers champion at the age of 68, joins the BTCC grid in a proven ex-Matt Neal Jnr Honda Civic and states that this will be his year ;)

2038 - Captain VXR (Now Major VXR) funds a BTCC team running bioethanol-electric hybrids with Captain VXR jnr as the driver.
Clyde Valley still want two Chevrolet Lacettis but never get them with Dan Eaves jnr and Colin Neill jnr tipped to be on a website saying they will enter.
Arena Motorsport buy some BMW 3-Series E690 touring cars after failing to get them for the 2037 season

its way to soon for this lets get 2007 going then we can start to make up stories about what we would like in 2008

This thread is just for posting any news/speculation about 2008.

Whats the point in it though?
Time goes too quickly as it is without worrying about next season before this one has even begun.
Can the moderators delete it this thread?

My sentiments exactly

Alfa Fan
18th March 2007, 01:36
Simply, if you don't want to use it, don't post in it! Its a bit pathetic trying to get it deleted purely because you don't want it.

CarlMetro
18th March 2007, 01:40
It's a bit pathetic posting rumours and speculation about the 2008 season when the 2007 season hasn't even started, especially when there is no foundation for the rumours in the first place.

But then I guess there will always be those who think they know more than they really do

And it would seem having a nickname starting with Alfa helps to fall into this catagory.

I have to say in the years that I have been on here I don't think I have seen the winter filled with so much posting for postings sake. Really has been a lot of rubbish posted.

Or perhaps people could stop posting and the thread will disappear until someone decides to revive it the day after the Thruxton finale! :p :

I agree with you there Ian, but there has also been a high volume of bitchy comments too! :s

Which probably says something about it too, normally we don't get those until the season starts and the 'paint rubbing' begins :D
