Good swimming skills and pick up the post every week? I don't recall them mentioning giving you a boat to use.
Sounds like a good way to see the inside of a shark.

One million hits for 'best job in the world' application
Posted 1 hour 47 minutes ago.
Queensland Tourism Minister Desley Boyle says about 200 people are accessing a website every minute to find out about a job in the Whitsundays billed as the best in the world.
The job offer is part of an international tourism campaign and will allow the successful applicant to live rent free on Hamilton Island for six months, exploring the region and blogging about their experiences.
Ms Boyle says there have been more than a million hits.
"It is going to be the best tourism campaign, because apart from actually filling the job, we then have all the follow-through publicity there'll be with the shortlist of applicants being flown to the Whitsundays, with the person then travelling around the islands - Lizard, Magnetic and Fraser - as well as the Whitsundays," she said

If the interest level is very high, which would be no surprise considering the offer, then I wonder, according to which criterias are they going to select the right candidate?

Talking about best job, as long as you can enjoy it i think it is fine. Job will give more excitement if only it is done according to something we like at most such as hobbies.
Perhaps, you still have enough time to look around here in the forum amid bunch of workstuff indicates that your job is fine... ;)

Make sure they throw a boat in on the deal. It's gonna be hard to outswim a shark while you're towing a sack of mail.

Looks good. I don't mind Hamilton island, but it's not the best one. I think most of that money would go towards the living expenses up there. As for the post, well there is a post office on the island so its not too long a drive. The only thing you have worry about is cyclone season.
Meh, sharks? no need to worry about sharks when you have the Iracongi and box jellyfish to worry about.

Aussie wins '2nd best job in world'
By New Zealand correspondent Kerri Ritchie
Posted 12 minutes ago
An Australian has been given the job of looking after an island paradise in New Zealand.
When the Kiwi caretaker jobs were advertised last month, they were described as the "second best in the world", in imitation of "the best job in the world" on Hamilton Island off north Queensland.
